Well that solidifies that Carlo was a great addition. You haven't been right about too much when commenting about this team. I recall many times when you've said after a few losses that we wouldn't be making the playoffs. ;)
Half the fanbase is hoping everything fails because being right is way more important than the Leafs winning.

It's same old same old 😂😂

same o ' same o '

same ol' same ol'

The same thing that is always done or that always happens. It often implies that such a thing is boring or monotonous. The phrase is duplicated for emphasis, with ol' being a colloquial shortening of "old."

He looked more than fine against the leafs last playoff series. Top 4 RD is a huge add for the team. Minten is not a bad player but no huge loss.

Minten is only 20 so he has plenty of time to develop. Smart player, good size and plays a position that we are light on. Would've rather just sent more picks to the Bruins than give them Minten. Lets hope Carlo is good because otherwise Brad just messed up bigtime. Leafs didn't have many good prospects in the system and they just gave up one of their better ones in this deal.

And carlo is 28 and was playing in Boston top 4 since he's 20 and made a huge difference in probably the best defensive team last decade.

Carlo is not a sexy player but treliving traded today for grit and caracter. Player who understand what they can do to help the team and who will do it...

Carlo doing everything right in the defensive end. Clear the front of the net to help goalie, an amaizing penalty killer so don't need to play with timmins/ myers on PK anymore and will put everyone on the right chair.

Leafs moved from 0 RHD of quality ---> pretty solid shutdown RHD. Like Tanev signing, it was not the sexiest move but extremely useful and expect the same exact thing with Carlo

I like the work Brad put in today, we had needs he got us some pretty good players at the end of the day we will be facing a gauntlet of really good teams, pumped to see what happens!

I thought Dewar and Timmons bought the retention. Anyway we keep doing the same oh same oh every year and the results mirror that. In a couple more years ageing players and no prospects or picks. Hello basement doormat for a decade or more. Just like before 2016
Gotta be a bad team at least for a few years to draft the best prospects. But no point worrying about that now.

And we never really bottomed out before Nylander-Marner-Matthews. We usually finished just outside the playoffs.

Not crapping on Minten as I do like his game and think he can be Cirilli lite.
But he is a top 3 Leafs prospects bc Leafs lack prospects and not bc he is really really good.

Laughton and Carlo are skilled and don't have bite, is that what you're telling me?
I am telling you Matthews, Marner, JT and Nylander dont have bite.

Compare the top six of Florida and it's a laughable comparison.

They were well behind the Leafs a few years ago. They traded for Matthews Tkachuk and now they have Bennett, Reinhart, Barkov, Marchand.

If they meet it would be a battle between Leafs tough D vs Floridas forward bite. We cannot expect our core to show up now all of a sudden, can we?

What an arms race. Too bad only one of Fla, TB and Tor can actually come out.

Please Lord, let it be the Leafs time.
With NJ losing J Hughes, Carolina having to move Ranta, the Caps are the biggest threat out of the Metro. The road to the SC goes through Florida. It will not be easy to knock off both.

How did we draft Mathews? How did we get 4th overall, 8th overall? I’m not worried about it. Just more of the same for a couple more years. Then it will be paper bag time again.

If you look at his stats in junior and read projections from analysts and scouts, most say that his ceiling will be a good 3C. It's very unlikely that he develops into anything higher. It might be possible, but then again it might be possible Carlo turns into another Chara.
Leafs also believed that guys like Mason Marchment and Trevor Moore didn't have much more offensive upside than what they showed in their few games with the team and it turned out that they did have more to give when they were given larger roles.

Minten played 19 games with the Leafs for barely 12 mins a game mostly with guys who aren't exactly offensive juggernauts. I guess we'll see if he has more to give when someday he's given a bigger role with better players.

As for Carlo I'm hoping that he'll be great for the Leafs, but its kinda hard to be excited when Bruins fans aren't sad at all to see him traded.
