I'd slot them at #6, the highest I've had them going into the playoffs.

1st round picks always are valuable, tough to build a team without them.
If you look at his stats in junior and read projections from analysts and scouts, most say that his ceiling will be a good 3C. It's very unlikely that he develops into anything higher. It might be possible, but then again it might be possible Carlo turns into another Chara.
Part of it too, he has a few years left, so does he block Minten in the 3 hole? That might be part of the thinking. Laughton has a lot of hockey left.
