This was a dominant performance by the Leafs and Freddy was subpar.

I really don't think that the Canucks are that bad though. Are they?

Petan adds the brains and hockey sense that complements Spezza. Petan's choices and actions when he's on the ice are always purposeful. Hope he stays this time.

8-2-1, with another gear to hit.

Where are the dipshits like that cynic guy or dumb hockey analyst at 4PM who only show up when the Leafs are losing?

Sure, let's enjoy this but please remember that a shiny regular season record means nothing if they don't advance a round or 2 in the playoffs this year. The real season for me starts in May.

It's both IMO. This isn't a team that's ever really elevated, regular season or playoffs. A top seed would be an achievement and put them in better position for the playoffs.

I wouldn't worry about posters like that, they're not real fans and only make posts to get a rise out of us. Lol

I know, but I think we all knew that this team should dominate this division in the regular season.

Interesting that Benn whith 5 career fights, stuck up for Hughes by fighting Simmonds. Did anybody stand up for Kerfoot or for the hit on Marner behind the net on Matty's 2nd goal ?

+1

I like Simmonds aggression on the hit just because I'm hoping it helps change the mindset of this team that they should never take the foot off the gas.

I'd like this post 900 times if I could!

New rats on an old ship. The Canucks, even with completely different players are still a sneaky, underhanded, unlikable team, but yet, they've also had a lot of players I'd personally liked (Bure, Linden, the Sedins, Edler, Lou).

And you can tell the Leafs don't like them, love to run up the score and smack them with the game out of reach.

Matthews has that 'I can schedule a threesome with supermodels anytime I want!' swagger, because he probably can.

Mitch had three points but aside from that glorious sauce on Matthews' 2nd I felt was silent overall.

JT quietly solid, Willy looked dangerous but again, think he's not calibrated properly.

Spezza, you absolute beautician.

Night Train Wayne smokes Queen Hughes then mucks Jordi Benn, love it.

Loving Nick Petan providing the energy. You know what separates us from teams like Vancouver and Edmonton? We have an abundance of guys like this chomping at the bit.

Brodie is a rock back there.

Holl had a good game, but not as good as he has been.

You hate to see it, but if Dermott is out, enter Sandman.

I want Hyman, Kerfoot and Mikheyev to score, getting lots of looks, I'd give them some token PP time.

Hard to blame Freddy for any of the goals - mad scramble, Horvat blast, 4-on-3 after Hughes went for a swim.

...

Did Elias Pettersson play tonight? I've heard he's as good or better than Auston Matthews, I was looking forward to seeing him playing.

Tyler Myers, 6,000,000 til 2023-24...terrifying.

Demko put up a good effort but was left out to dry.

That plug stamping Kerfoot in the numbers (Chatfield?), aside from the hit seemed like the only nucks player who gave a f***.

Quinn Hughes makes Morgan Rielly look like Ryan Suter.

I think the Canucks don't want to play for Travis Green.

Careful I got told Elias Pettersson was putting on a clinic in all 3 zones when I suggested he had an uneventful game against Vegas in the playoffs, funny thing is no one on the Canucks left the one zone.

Best team in Canada ffs, roster changes notwithstanding were still looking at an incredibly delusional fanbase.

Bogo came over after the Kerfoot hit and there's a difference between Kerfoot and Hughes.

I think they were focused on celebrating for the Marner hit

That non-call for the hit from behind on Kerfoot, followed by Kerfoot's one-handed slashing penalty a few minutes later is typical game management shit from the refs.

Glad the panel during the intermission last night spoke about it. And so did Ferraro ... This ticky-tacky stuff versus the more injury-prone plays getting called is ridiculous

I watched that marner hit i think the player let up on him could have been way worse

Still think somebody needs to send a message and show that we are a team.
There's a time and a place. It would have been fine to fight then, but at the end of the day we end up with a blowout win where their star gets put face first into the boards then their "tough guy" (as close as either team gets now) gets beat up.

I'm not worried about this team looking soft last night, simply because they didn't. A message was sent, just not at the time you wanted

Thinking about it some, perhaps Simmonds' hit on Hughes was the right time and place.

I love the irony of hearing Canuck fans tell us 4 players for 40 million is a disaster and their moronic GM is spending 40 milion on garbage and they're screwed

But Bennings is a much better GM than Dubas according to their fans!

He's so good they all want him fired every year.
