Before his team wins a round he's just unproven youngster who losed contract negoations and made bad deals. He didn't draft any of their important players. He did like Holl, but Holl is number 5 D.

Marnes for example was Hunter's guy. His input for to this team is bigger than Dubas's.

I mean this post is a totally baseless joke but I will play along...

Dubas brought in half of the Leafs' defense, who are all top 4 defensemen right now, which is the best it has been in a long time. He brought in Tavares, which speaks for itself. He pretty much did everything to build around the core guys, who were already here, and re-signed them while still icing an a Cup contending team. He had to clean up some messes from prior administrations and that hurt, but he hasn't made bad deals.

At this point, he has done everything you really need for a team to go far in the playoffs. We were out-goalied for two straight years. Literally nothing he can do about that besides acquire a better goalie than Andersen, and there haven't been any available.

Hunter has not made anywhere near the kind of impact on the Leafs that Dubas has. The vast majority of what he did for this team was not missing on a top 5 pick in the deepest draft of like the past 2 decades... Otherwise, he drafted Dermott in the same draft and has had literally nothing else work out to this point. Maybe Woll and Scott become something, and Grundstrom and Liljegren are good prospects, but that is more on Bergman than him. On the whole though, he was a mediocre at best drafter and absolutely useless at everything else... With a selfish attitude to boot.

Yeah. I'm certain that if the team was doing poorly, you'd totally defend Dubas and blame Hunter.

That is not objective at all. It is your opinion which by definition makes it subjective.

Yea, but the North league is very weak compared to the others, pretty sure the Leafs would not be leading the regular NHL let alone their division. L

You can't be pretty sure if anything like that. There is no basis for comparison
You are just giving me your opinion. It is perfectly valid of course, but not authoritative. It has the same value as any other person.

Even if that's true winning teaches a team how to win. It gives a team an expectation.
I remember for years thinking how the pens were in such a soft division and their numbers were loaded because of that but they kept winning cups.

Habs are well coached but there's just not a lot of talent on that squad.
This is it, Julien’s coaching is really what has made MTL difficult to play against despite some poor seasons.
Despite overall good depth their problem right now as I see it is very obvious; Kotkaniemi and Suzuki as your #1 and 2 centers simply isn’t good enough. The veteran wingers help but they are 1 or more likely 2 years away from being able to handle that.

Next games are against Calgary who just had the doors blown off by their arch rivals. They're probably going to have another players meeting and come out gunning, but we need to put them in the dirt. Seems like half the darn division is imploding right now, stack up the points.

Send out the Matthews line and continue the implosion. Nobody in the division can defend that line.

Anderson stole the game in the first period, at least 5 great saves. Its the best ive seen Anderson play in recent memory.
Yea that stretch was fantastic. When he is on he is all the way on.

Im hoping that groin of his is a little sore and not mangled after that one cross crease save where he stayed down a second.
