BTW a NHL rink is 85' wide so Willie is about 70' from the play and his skates are facing the wrong way. Tatar is in full stride at this point. How fast do you think Nylander is?

It was all fluke start with the habs. I think they will be in a battle with Calgary to make 4th but fall short.

I see it differently. Montreal didnt have a clear walk to the net. He had a decent chance to disrupt.

Nylander makes it so easy for me to dislike him... I actually want to like him as a hockey player,,, its just so easy to dislike high paid hockey players that hold out for more money and then don't try after they get paid.
Not even mcdavid could have made up that much space to catch any player already in full stride. That's physics. Space, time and acceleration. If Nylander was wearing a jet pack I would agree with you but he wasn't.
Boyd have them the clear chance to the net.
If you want to pick on Nylander, that's fine but at least pick a play he did something wrong to use

50% retained, I'd take Price for Freddy in a heartbeat. I'd even throw in a prospect and/or draft pick.

Willy got benched because he deserved to be benched pure and simple ... he was making risky plays in a tight game and was deemed by coach to be unreliable
Let's not focus on a couple bad plays by JT, Rielly and Boyd, Holl on Habs 2 goals ... we can analyze both and JT should have made stronger play on puck and Rielly should have moved to middle of ice on Brodie's pinch and great chance to score to stop da breakaway ... Boyd should have taken pass and dumped it in corner in middle of ice and Holl should have known to back him up as a defender should always be last man back ... in my day both defenders would have sat down on bench for a shift and explained their errors but in todays game with so much offensive focus most people don't care or even see these issues .. da last goal was an accident Muzzy got hit in eye with a follow through and went to bench and his man got pass in front of net and scored ... bad luck pure and simple
But overall Leafs played strong and controlled that game throughout ... very systematic and well played ... can't blame Freddy for any of those goals they were great chances ... and he made a couple other 10 bellers which should have been goals ... that is what i consider a solid tending game ... da better team won but it was a close game

Just an AMAZING game played by Dermy and Bogo ... they have been getting better as games go on ... Dermy is really getting better ... don't be surprised to see Keefer go to them in shutdown roles more and more ... this is why I always say keep our young defenders ... I think Dermy has been our best defender past little while ... so so smart to have him play with a vet like Bogo ... this is exactly how to develop a young defender and it is now paying huge dividends in BIG time games like Habs on road
Pretty easy to move Price later on at another %50 retained to a cap floor team for picks if you want to. Like I said, do it in a heartbeat.

Why? His save average is .893. He ranks 19th out of 27 goalies who played 10 or more games.
If we are picking and choosing, and get to have the other team retain salary I will take someone with considerably better save% or win%
