10 Point lead brethrens.

The one time we get home ice, it doesn't mean shit LOL
Obviously getting way ahead of ourselves, but if we finish with the top record in the league, and if we make it out of the North, it’d make a difference in the 3rd round. It won’t be a standard conference final, as there aren’t really conferences this year. All 4 teams making it to the 3rd round get re-seeded, so having the top regular season record means playing the weakest team in the 3rd round.

Obviously, we could absolutely lose in the 1st or 2nd round of the playoffs, or we could make it to the 3rd round but not have the best record. But, regular season record will potentially be a big deal in the 3rd round, so it’s certainly not pointless.

I think it matters less in rounds 1/2, because 3 of Montreal/Edmonton/Winnipeg/Calgary will make the playoffs with us, and they’re all pretty similar IMO. But if we do make it to round 3, I’d like to play the weakest team!

One game at a time...

I expect you'll see more of that as the season progresses
Not a Holl fan eh? Considering he was good last year and has had a pretty great 17 games, and while this type of game resembles his rookie season, I am leaning to an off game first before I make any rash judgements that he has severely regressed. All players have off games, even some of the best ones.

I'm not a holl fan but I wouldn't say I don't like him either. I just don't think he's that good nor do I think he was particularly good last season for the most part. He had a hot start and I think he's going to decline

Holl Muzzy get some tough matchups. They aren't always going to shine, but they are def a huge part of the plan.

all of the analysts who had them as the savant of teams and the deepest team of all time and better than the leafs need to be publicly shamed and forced to apologize

But Kotkaniemi/Drouin/armia as your 3rd liners and both chiarot/edmundson in your top 4 is AMAZING ELITE DEPTH!!!! they said.

According to some Habs fans, the Leafs are a crappy team. Well the Habs lost to the Leafs after a week off, so what does that make them?

This point needs to be hammered home. The broadcasts were not shy to excuse Vancouver’s shoddy play due to the number of games they had played, yet you don’t hear anything about the string of injuries and the relatively busy schedule the leafs have themselves.

I guess you don’t need excuses for winning.:thumbu:

What a wonderful way to wake up on Sunday morning. A convincing win overall, I think. I would be happier if the Leafs would cut down on give-aways a bit more, but in general a really nice game by the boys and what a lead in the table. Very happy right now.

If Dubas wants be a good gm he needs to make bold decisions. And one of them is to trade Nylander. You can't spend 7 mil for guy who half of the time doens't even bother to try.

Trade Nylander and Sandin for true number two young D. And acquire to replace Nylander some soon to be UFA guy who will do anything to earn big deal next year.

he's already a good gm.

he's already a good gm.

Before his team wins a round he's just unproven youngster who losed contract negoations and made bad deals. He didn't draft any of their important players. He did like Holl, but Holl is number 5 D.

Marnes for example was Hunter's guy. His input for to this team is bigger than Dubas's.
