Its a small sample size but Ritchie doesnt belong on the first line, thats for sure.

5v5 Tavares/Marner/Ritchie:
TOI: 32 minutes
CF%: 48.08
xGF%: 40.27

5v5 Tavares/Marner without Richie:
TOI: 10 minutes
CF%: 67.26
xGF%: 84.29

I think he'll be good on the third line but he just bogs down the top line.
I think his job is banging in rebounds. Since both JT and MM are either missing the net completely or goalie making clean saves, can't really see how he effective he will be.

The upside: No Matthews, Tavares or Marner and they're 2-1.

These are not the days of Dave Andrewychuck or Dino Cicerelli. That role doesn't exist anymore
He'll never be ahead of the play to park himself so he can bang in the rebounds

By the time he gets to the net, the play seems the other way around

Have not been impressed so far. He needs to get engaged more physically

Top 6 players for shots on goal in the league so far this year:

1. Nylander - 2 rebounds created
2. Kane - 0 rebounds created
3. Pettersson - 1 rebound created
4. Patches - 2 rebounds created
5. Marner - 2 rebounds created
6. Tavares - 1 rebound created

Don't blame those guys cause Ritchie has been an anchor.

Man Sens really make you earn it. Maybe it's good for us. We need to learn against teams like that.
Overall decent game but our structure is nowhere close to being there yet. Hopefully just early sloppy play though.
Nice game by Lilly. Couple rough moments but kept it simple. Made 3-4 fantastic plays that might have saved goals. It's only fiting his assist comes from a simple defensive play. He can be way better then this but this is a huge improvement over what Holl was providing.

I thought Sandin was terrific again. Moved the puck well and no glaring errors really. Needs to get stronger and gain a step but everything else is there. All though I send him down because he provided more room on the team for Simmonds with the free goal. Kidding of course.

Marner and JT. I can just say wow at that last sequence.

Campbell with another game of only letting in one goal.

In other news, Montreal loses again and only scores one goal in a game, 3 goals in 3 games. Knew they'd be trash this season, LOVE it.
But check out the Habs GDT thread. The 104 year streak is unbroken. The Habs only lose when the refs are biased.

That 3rd line was completely invisible. I am not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing
But you can't have a line that that's vanilla. I mean vanilla is the most blant sense

They bring nothing other than figure skating. Kampf did throw some decent hits. Kase meh
Maybe he'll do well or better with more skilled players. Engvall doing his best to get out of line up
Still making those dangerous passes and holding on to it for too long

Is it just me or is Nylander creating turnovers just about every shift he's out there? Leading the league with 7 takeaways right now but even that feels low.
im pretty sure hes been at the very top of the league for creating nuetral zone turnovers since he was a rook. but ye its a fantastic skill of his and now hes doing it in the offensive zone too

Yeah tonight wasn't a great night for them but they weren't terrible. Just not overly noticeable.

Once Matthews is in it'll be more telling when the lines are set where they should be.

Big win and only 4 pages?

Shocked, shocked!

:sarcasm:

Nice to see us banking points without Matthews though.

Current worst 2 teams in the league:

31. Islanders
32. Habs

Feels good man.

Just like after the loss... wait for the playoffs before getting too high or too low.
