Post-Game Talk: Leafs 3 Senators 1

Damn the gdt thread was shut down fast lol.

Good game by the Leafs overall. Second got a little shaky but overall they looked better tonight.

Lilly was solid. Sandin was mostly noticeable in a good way. Nylander with another solid game. Kerfoot showed up. Marner and JT cursed so far. Campbell is looking solid... no UT guy had to play net tonight.

Had to add Bunting my bad... also great game. Like what he brings to this team.

Nice to see that they started on time this time around.

I love Marner and Tavares, but they have no chemistry together whatsoever. Tavares has been on a downward spiral as is expected for an aging player. Definitely not receiving 11 million dollars worth of production or performances from either one of them. Not impressed by our first line at all. No chemistry, no drive, just awful.

A win is a win, can't wait until Matthews is back as Marner is lost without him.

Campbell = A legit #1. I've been saying it forever.

Tavares and Marner = To be talked about failing on scoring means they did enough multiple times to get to that point, they will start to go in, trust me.

Lil = Good game, better than Holl for sure at this point.

Bunting = WHAT A PICK UP, i wanted this kid, we got him, he will be important come playoff time.

Ritchie = Man, i know it's only 3 games into the season, but, ooooooof.

Spezza = Baby now. The best baby. The vintage baby.

Honestly, JT and especially Marner are doing a lot right, just can’t finish. It’s only been 3 games, I’m not too worried. But yeah, there have been some facepalm lack of finish moments!

Great game by the team overall, continue to love Bunting and Spezza, two value guys performing in a major way. And Campbell, such a beauty. Simmer’s best game too.

If I was to make a lineup change, it’d be Amadio for … anyone really. He’s been totally useless, should’ve kept Brooks.

Campbell is a beauty

Bunting with a great game

4th line was great for much of the game

Nylander with yet another good performance

Sandin showed more of his offensive abilities

Liljegren earned more looks with solid defensive play

JT and Marner generated chances, but gotta start burying them

Team looked like it was fragile at the end of the second period; can't have these collapses happening all the time

Entertaining game, good team win

No problems with anyone really. 1st line had a bunch of chances, couldn't finish. 2nd line was the best, again. Bunting was exceptional, Willy his usual, Kerfoot stood out. 3rd line was solid, and the 4th actually showed up.

Liljegren and Sandin were both amazing. The worst defenseman today was Muzzin, but he was good? Just horrible positioning on the Sens only goal.

Campbell amazing as usual.

Win is a win
but man there are so many holes in our team

That goal doesn't get all back, Ottawa would have come with all the momentum
How does that breakdown even happen?

it's always this little stuff that we lose focus on
 
All in all a good game. The team was ready to start and carried it thru until the end.
Our a first line has no finish but props to the meat and potatoes guy on the rest of the team.
Great 2nd effort by Bunting on his goal
 
Not in love with the win, but it's points on the board. Will be much stronger teams ahead and we have to keep improving. The trio of Dermott, Sandin, and Lilly are clearly critical to our future success, and they should be getting as much icetime as we can give them going forward.

Half the team played like Hyman, but without the puck retrieval skills.

This team is a real question mark.

Not sure sure what to make of them.

Not that strong in goal.

Defense is below average, slow too. Small by NHL standards.

Forwards cannot score on a defense-man playing goal with an empty net.

Best forwards easily checked into the ice.

They need more than that.

The jinx can't sustain itself over an 82 game season with 31 different teams being played. Both will be elite and end off dominanting

We need to figure out how to stop having these streaks/moments in the playoffs. Marner + JT + Matthews (last year) all have went off and gone cold unable to finish the numerous chances they get./create in the playoffs. We need them to avoid doing that this year, as 3-5 games of this in the playoffs will make it very likely we get eliminated in the 1st round again.

Hutchinson looks great in goal

JT and Mitch are snakebit but the team is playing well otherwise

Good game by our depth players. Terrible game by Ritchie. Marner and Tavares don’t deserve to get their first goal on an empty net.
