Perhaps I may have misunderstood. I’m just saying if I do not enjoy the product and the people who iced the product, than why would I watch it

I would say you have every right not to watch. Lots of different types of fans.

Myself, I watch the Leafs simply because I like to watch the Leafs. Win or lose I enjoy frustrating myself. Perhaps it's why I also love the Bills.

I've been a fan for longer and delusional has nothing to do with supporting and wanting the best for your team.

Saying your team is the best in the league when they are bottom feeders or no acknowledgement of its flaws, that's delusional. But essentially posting that you won't watch or support, what is supposedly your team until they make the changes you think are needed, sounds spoiled and entitled to me. Like a kid throwing a tantrum when they don't get what they want.

Nobody said you don't have the right to make any comment you want, but if you post it for the public, expect retorts. There are ways to express displeasure with the team and not sound sulky. Many many others posts manage this.
The loyalty of the fan base has actually contributed to the franchise being the laughing stock of sports. If they didn't sell out every night for 50 yrs there’d be a good chance they would have changed the model.

4-1-1 since the dreadful trip out west, with the team having played arguably as well if not better than their opponent in both loses with their 3rd string goalie.

Long way to go, but it's been fairly decent of late.

No that's on the bed of the owners. How does the loyalty of the Bruins or Habs or any of the other successful franchises create what happened here? It only happens when the owners are greedy. Again Ballard is a prime example. The Sens are too

If Dubas gets canned and they trade Marner, I will be watching more Leaf games. Until that time, I watch when I can.

I’ve been a Leaf fan for 35 years. I have the right to not like the state of the franchise. I don’t have to be a delusional fan boy just because.

So if I am not happy with the on ice product and the vision of the current management, I still have to watch? Interesting.

Perhaps I may have misunderstood. I’m just saying if I do not enjoy the product and the people who iced the product, than why would I watch it.
Respectfully, I'll argue that the comments you're making are simply placed in a thread that asked for 'optimistic' takes, not 'negative' takes. There are plenty of other threads for you or anyone else to engage in discussions about what upsets you about the team. Have at it. This, of course, applies to others who have to offer their displeasure. Do the OP a favor and respect his request for optimism, and allow others to escape into their dream world. Really, it's just a courtesy thing. Cheers.

Overall Lily has been great and helped stabalize the defence more

4th line has really stepped their game up as of late. Malgin has been very impressive

Once marner and matthews can each find their full rhythm again hopefully this team can start playing longer stretches of quality hockey

They don’t show up when they're mediocre, voiced their displeasure when the product didn't meet standard, and demanded better.

Leafs’ fan accepted mediocrity and ownership provided it.

I mean besides mot showing up, which in any big market is never happening... Cubs/Red Sox/ Browns/ etc. What can fans do?

Fans have nothing to do with it.

It’s as simple as not buying the product their selling.

The Toronto market is unique in that a large portion of their fans are not hockey fans.

Agreed. Some people aren't happy unless they're miserable.

You have to know this isn't true. No one is bailing on the Leafs if Dubas gets fired.

This is and always will be a ridiculous take.
They'll just find someone else to complain about.

Except it never is going to happen. Your statement is also false. While in the City of Toronto that may be true but the fact is Toronto has an incredibly large base of fans across the country and US.

Any game you watch in any city will have a tonne of Leafs fans there.

Also with such a huge fanbase and with so many corporate season ticket holders, people will always jump at the chance to go to a game because a lot of the population is priced out.

They don't accept mediocrity. A lot of fans still stick by their team thick or thin.

We usually start the season fairly well then coast and put some runs together through the season, but essential it feels like they go on cruise control and cruise into the playoffs.
Having this 'rough' start, and I say it that way because we are still doing ok, might be the kick their heads and they fight harder and harder into and deep into the playoffs

Was Murray nervous? I don’t remember him fumbling and fighting the puck like he was tonight in the past.

Has to be at least a little encouraging that we are bottom half in offense yet tied for 5th while being without Muzz, just getting Lil back and the whole goalie thing. Almost at the top of the heap in shots against/GP. Very much want our PK fixed though.
