Imagine getting picks to take Murray and have him be better than the goalies on the team that paid you to take him.
I always thought Murray would be a good guy to take a chance on. 1/3 chance he would be awful, 1/3 chance he would be average, 1/3 chance he would be very good. But there was no way to predict it. For the Leafs I take those odds, becuse if he is very good, that very might make them the cup favorite. If he is just average, they still make the playoffs with a shot 'as good as anyone'. 2/3 chance overall he's a good fit.

Yes, 3rd place overall and 3 points back for the President’s Trophy lead.

Our Leafs are playing awesome.

Even the other threads are lighter on the Debbie Downer postings… lots to be optimistic about.

Our Goalies are huge.

That is super nice, isn't it! OMG was this place ever tedious before this run started, every single thread no matter what the subject was full of the same crap.

Taking away people's ability to like posts seems like a really bad idea. We can still like them, it's just that we have to quote the post in order to say so which just clutters up the forum. If anyone's listening, consider this an "opportunity for improvement".

Like. :)

It's so amusing to me that Dorian made possibly the biggest blunder of his career with this trade and at the time the entire board and hockey media revered him as the off season god.

I'm loving this season so much.

The leafs turning things around and everyone being happy about them after the slow start was so predictable. It's annoying how over emotional and irrational people are on here. Guaranteed if this happens again next season for the 3rd time in a row people will still not have learned their lesson and will overreact

9-0-1 in their last 10 games… 3 shutouts in their last 4.

Let the haters eat cake.

We’re back at it tonight… time to reel in that President’s Trophy
Talk about a different feeling about this team now as opposed to the beginning of November. They’ve fought through major injury adversity and still are one of the top teams in the nhl.

100% this was me earlier this season. The team looked awful again coming out of the gate, disinterested, losing badly to bad teams and it felt like last year's lost to the Bolts broke them and/or they lost faith in Keith/Dubas and their play was an indication of it. I got sucked into the narrative and boy have they ever buried all of that talk.

However, that "not learning my lesson" from last year also applies to playoff performance. As in, they had a franchise-best regular season last year and still choked when it counted. So nothing I'm seeing now - good or bad - is going to convince me that once April arrives anything will be different this year until it happens.

10-1-3 since the collapse in Anaheim, where everyone wanted them to fire Keefe & trade Marner.

A lot can change in 27 days in this league.
Fire Keefe yes but no more
Trade MM no, but in the "trade the other guy" camp, without mentioning any names.

Infracting somebody for making a joke in which no dogs, baby's, horses got hurt and/or laughed at is kinda silly actually.

I’m optimistic the Leafs have an even better 2nd half to the season… the President’s Trophy is likely in play.

Home ice throughout the playoffs sounds nice.

I'm enjoying watching the Leafs this season. For the most part, they look pretty good.

We can't know in advance what happens next, but to me they look at least as good as any other team.

Boston is ahead in the standings, but I think the Leafs would at least be competitive against the Bruins and and other team.

I'm reminded that the late Yogi Berra said to the effect that you can observe a lot by just watching, and thats pretty much what I plan to do. I'm liking what I'm seeing.

@The 6ix, what else can we do but watch? Nobody here is connected to what the team does, as best I know, so why not follow your advise and enjoy it? The shift by shift anguish that some present is tedious.

Seriously though… how Lucky are we to have this Toronto Maple Leafs team, as ours?

Those 2 goals within 4 minutes from Auston… we’re literally spoiled.

Tonight could be a massacre.

Tomorrow night goes Boston… even without Auston, we can win this game.

Nylander is on another level this year… Sammy has been fantastic and is now the starter it seems.

Not very. In the 50+ years I've been following we haven't even been to the finals. Hopefully that changes this season but it's a tall order. I am still trying very hard to be optimistic though.
