here is my optimism ...
leafs play like dogshit and have one of the worst offensives in the league and yet we have the same record as florida, tampa bay and NY rangers who were all suppose to be top tier eastern teams.

some small tweaks in the offense, trade, call up, strategy etc..
It makes little sence the basic same lineup as last year forgot how to score.

Some people just wanted to discuss more than firing Dubas, Keefe, and Shannahan and trading everyone, if you don't like the thread, just avoid it, pretty simple
Whiners just cannot help themselves, they need to be heard!
It's an inferiority complex thing 🤫.

And if Dubas got fired you and many other posters would bail from this forum and never show up again. Your fanship of the team is tied to the GM. Imagine that.

Hoping last night’s comeback win is the beginning of a winning streak… won’t take much to get into the top 5 or even top 3.

If Dubas gets canned and they trade Marner, I will be watching more Leaf games. Until that time, I watch when I can.

I'm very optimistic MLSE will make tons of money this year, next year, and all the years that follow. This is regardless of the team's record or playoff success.

Sorry but Imo posts like this point to an entitled fairweather fan base.

My opinion is I want them to win it all no matter who the GM is or the players, period.

Yes there are changes that I would like to see, and I will talk about them, but I will not miss watching the sport I love played by the team I love just because things aren't the way I think they should be.

I’ve been a Leaf fan for 35 years. I have the right to not like the state of the franchise. I don’t have to be a delusional fan boy just because.

I've been a fan for longer and delusional has nothing to do with supporting and wanting the best for your team.

Saying your team is the best in the league when they are bottom feeders or no acknowledgement of its flaws, that's delusional. But essentially posting that you won't watch or support, what is supposedly your team until they make the changes you think are needed, sounds spoiled and entitled to me. Like a kid throwing a tantrum when they don't get what they want.

Nobody said you don't have the right to make any comment you want, but if you post it for the public, expect retorts. There are ways to express displeasure with the team and not sound sulky. Many many others posts manage this.

I think you're lost, see the thread title.

Anyhow, I believe Murray is probably playing tomorrow, Him playing great in victory would go a long way to raise the optimism level around here. GLG!!

So if I am not happy with the on ice product and the vision of the current management, I still have to watch? Interesting.

No you can do what you want. All saying is that the post sounded petty.

I'm in no way trying to say you should do anything you don't want, I'm just saying I consider being a fan means I will support my team through the good and the bad and I've been through the Ballard era, so I've been there for the bad. I will voice my displeasure at things I dislike, but I love hockey and I love the Toronto maple leafs, for better or worse, through sickness and in health

You do you. My comment was really a statement on your post and not a mandate on how you should act. It is just my opinion

I would prefer watching the Leafs dominate the ice 60 minutes a game 82 games a season. I hate when they lose. There are things I would like changed, but like any relationship, there are ups and downs. I chose to take them and still cheer for my team as much as I am capable of.
