A 1994 Marty goal on a night with a Marty segment?

Is MSG a damn curse or what.

Oh and when the Devils score, I want Steve to just once say "It DID go"

When is a devils game ever going to be on HD? When the rangers and islanders lose their teams ?

I'd play Kinkaid the next 3-4 games. What's the eh word worst that happens? They lose? Not like Schneider hasn't been hurting them more than helping the past month.

Take DSP out of the lineup for tomorrow. Put Kalinin back at Wing on the 4th line with Fiddler. Put Lappin or Wood on the 3rd line with JJ. Or call up Blandisi and put him on the 3rd line at Center or Wing.

This team just doesn't have the center depth right now. Zajac has been playing like a borderline first line center, but Henrique really is a 2nd/3rd line wing. Zacha while he has shown flashes of high-skill, also has struggles at large periods of time. Needs to get centered out fast.

I mean, Schneider hasn't been good but the D also has allowed like 50 shots on goal

thats unacceptable

Considering how many shots were allowed, I don't think he played horrifically tonight.

Though he did allow 2 weak goals, it definitely wasn't his worst game in this stretch though.

The Detroit, Chicago and LA games were worse.

You can't get outshot 45-20 by Montreal. We've been trailing my multiple goals this period and still allowed over 20 shots.

This was an awful effort by NJ tonight. You simply can't allow close to 50 shots against from an undermanned pos Montreal team like this.

I think the team has done enough to show that they can score at the very least, a respectable clip when healthy. Shero has to find a way to upgrade this defense, assuming they want to maintain this style of play. I keep reading how terrible Cory is. How the **** is he supposed to find his game playing behind this Swiss cheese defense?

Another softy.

But at least the bad goals didn't come until we were WELL out of this game tonight.

Purely out worked in this. Add in horrid passing and that's the result. Just throwing the puck all over. Our defense looked stupid too. Still not there yet this team. Missing a few pieces yet. Concerned about getting outshot so consistently. They are still mailing a calm defensman that can control the play other than the top pairing. Really want to get santini going on this team

This is one of those "burn the tape" losses. I'll be at the game tomorrow, hope they can turn it around quick.

Let's not get crazy.

What happens if Kinkaid has a bad game in the first or second of that stretch? He's surely due for one.

How hasn't Kinkaid done it with less chances?

Honestly it's getting to the point where Cory needs an extended vacation. Invent an injury for all I care, but this can't continue. Not if this team's going to stay anywhere near the playoff race.

this is an unacceptable joke of an effort. They showed NO heart after their teammate was hood jumped on the ice. Then they got outplayed, pushed around and basically laughed at for the rest of the game, and noone can do so much as to at least hit one of the cocky *******

Soft softy softness dosent win in this league

Call didn't go their way and they folded like a cheap folding chair. That is unacceptable.

Yep...awful officiating yes, but they got out-shot by more than a 2 to 1 margin. Pretty easy to figure out why this one is a loss.

I get that this Devils team is playing a higher event style of hockey, but the D needs to tighten up at least some if they're going to hang in the playoff race.

Though I will say I thought they looked pretty good in their own zone for much of the first before really unraveling.

No just done for the night because there's nothing left to discuss.

This isn't a good Devils team. Cory was supposed to be the glue that held them together. The defense is definitely the worst in my fan base history (1990), so he gets a bit of a pass but I still hold him accountable.
Other than that, at least they can build around Hall I guess. I don't know. They're just not good.

again, did you expect this team to be a top team this year? If you did, thats your own fault. The Devils were always going to be a bubble team this year and guess what, thtas what they are

If you can't see the progress this team has made in the past 18 months, I don't know what to tell you. Might want to give a new sport a try.

Agreed.

You can't get outshot 49-21 by Montreal, I don't even wanna hear how good they are. They're good because of their goaltender, the same goaltender that only faced 21 shots tonight (surely a season low, it has to be, right?) while his team had almost 25 shots in the 3rd period, while being up at least 2 goals for the duration of the period. A team that rarely gets that many shots and didn't even have that many power plays.

And the point of unraveling was the Price nonsense.

Agreed. The offense is passable now when heathy this is our healthy defense and it's a weak one. I think that was to be sort of expected figuring they traded that for offense. But time to sure up the blue line. Not sure how but it's not my job
