With Streit and Del Zotto on the roster, it’s hard to imagine him making the team. The Flyers need guys to play defense, not a bunch of gunslingers on the back end. With Streit, Del Zotto, MacDonald and Gostisbehere in the same lineup, Mason will get shell shocked.

lol...3 of those guys were on the team last year....and yes, Mason saw lots of rubber.

Most Flyers fans expect Ghost to start in the AHL and then get called up thru the season with injuries to other guys and if he shows he is ready, then chances are Streit or MDZ get trade.

And on the flipside, if/when Morin shows he is ready, then he takes the spot of either Schenn or Gudas.

Wrong, the Flyers need guys who can actually pass the puck and skate it out of danger, something that Gostisbehere would automatically become the best defensemen we have at if he stayed up.

I didn't state that Gostisbehere wasn't an amazing talent offensively. I said that the Flyers need more players who can play defense because Streit and Del Zotto cannot. IMO, one of those two has to go to make room for Gostisbehere.

And I stated we need his puck moving, which is our main problem defensively. Neither Streit or MDZ are great "puck movers", though they are offensive d-men.

The problem the Flyers had last season was the lac of ability to get the puck out of the D-zone under control, not "defending and getting the puck" in the first place, really.

We'll just have to outscore the opposition. Mason likes seeing lots of shots anyway

The way he can skate and how awesome his shot is, please make room now Hexy, we can't wait any longer.

Giroux feeding him on PP is going to be INSANE !!!

Totally agree...he is already better them most of our current d man...if not better then all of them...he needs to on our team quickly...

Last on the team in CF% tonight. The shot was great but there's more to being an NHL dman than blasting the puck.

Lol, you are a smart enough poster to know Ghost brings much more than just a heavy shot..

He was actually first in CF% in the other preseason game in Philly, and it was Provorov-Medvedev pairing who was last.

I know Ghost has more than a great shot. I just feel he is better served worked on his defense on the top pairing in the AHL than in the NHL. It's a lot different playing against full strength NHL teams than the third-string slop the Rangers and Islanders sent to Philly this week.

right choice was made. this will basically be his rookie pro season since he only played 5 games last year in the AHL before getting hurt.

I'd be stunned if he played in the AHL all year. I think he's on the team by the trade deadline.

Also, the Phantoms D is going to be kind of amazing with Ghost, Hagg, & Morin.

I think he's up before then.

Kid is just too dynamic not to find a spot. Let him play and make up some of that lost time from last year and 20-30 games in I think he's ready.
