Odd that his coach is using him as heavily as he is then. This kid looks like he has no idea whats going on when hes on the ice
His on ice results seem to be fine for a guy that has no idea how to play hockey.

US is scoring by committee outside of ZegrasWeird flex considering Caufield only has 2 goals throughout the entire tournament.
Wrong poster my badWeird flex considering Caufield only has 2 goals throughout the entire tournament.
Any comment on his KHL points record for dmen his age?0.00 points per game nice
Maybe, but if they wanted an offense first guy Drysdale would have been the better pick...Sanderson has shown some elite level defense in the NCAA ,with an emerging offensive game...Gaining an all situation defender is a good thing for us TBHthey arent everything but you should expect some from a 1st rounder

Ikr. The dude gets picked a little earlier than expected and suddenly everyone goes all shit show. He's a boom-bust guy who needs to work on his defensive IQ since he only recently started playing defense, while all his other attributes are fairly solid. Everyone should know this about him. But seemingly every time he slips up and makes a bad read in the defensive zone, bam, people go and post about it calling him a bust. Its insanity. It is the area that most people agree he needs to improve and once he makes one mistake and its like his whole career is over. He has had a great tournament so far and has made a very limited amount of slip ups. He has proven to me and should have to everyone else why he deserved to be a 1st rounder through this tournament. And I think its funny that Muk gets so much hate for making an occasional gaff, when guys like Broberg are playing some of the worst defense I have ever seen in the tournament and no one bats an eye, everyone just says "oh he's battling injuries" (I could care less, if he's injured he should sit the f*** on the bench and stop hurting his team by playing like crap) and "it's just one tournament". The double standard for some of these prospects is ridiculous.Don’t get why there’s so much chatter about this guy and why he’s so controversial.

Ok but many of the same people who don’t like Mukhamadulin also didn’t like Broberg and voiced their opinions in the same way they are now. They’re actually very comparable. Broberg went way too high based on his size+skating combo just like Shakir. They both show flashes of what they can do with the puck on the breakout but they both often fail to turn their pretty skating into anything of quality. They both have their strengths in the offensive zone but often struggle defensively. Hockey sense is a big question mark for both of them. Neither one would get nearly as much “hate” if they were picked somewhere in the second round. It’s not about hating the player as much as it is about draft pick value.Ikr. Imagine how many goals Robertson would have right now without having to be reinvigorated.US is scoring by committee outside of Zegras
Coaches finally realized last night that cole produces best when hes allowed to have flow on the PP and play with players that think the game at his level.
Semis will be fun with this new reinvigorated Caufeld

Data says he was one of, if not the best, Russians against Canada last night
Look harder and scroll downIt mostly just says he had a lot of ice time
Nope, everyone on the team had a negative expected goal differential (mostly VERY negative) except Mukh and Chistyakov, who were both slightly positive. Mukh was also #1 in even strength controlled zone exits. It mostly just says he had a lot of ice time

Overall, the advanced stats suggest Mukh, Chistyakov, Amirov and Podz had solid games, while the rest of the team got dominated. That matches what I saw watching the game.
how could you possibly know that?Didn’t only NJ have him as a first rounder? Arguably makes this a bad pick. Not fair to criticize the player for the team’s misstep, though
