Weisbrod displaying his megalomania the past week. Weaseled his way to power via a weak minded Benning. Pretty clear something big happened behind closed doors to warrant this firing spree.

There is a lot of smoke here. It sure looks like there was a lot of dissent within the organization towards management and they're trying to rid themselves of it.

What a dysfunctional and disjointed gong show we are. I think I'm done with this team until this idiot for a GM is fired.

Still know word on why Burnstein was fired? I have a hard time believing this was simply a cost cutting measure.

i think after yesterday and tuesday, management may have learned to keep their mouths shut.

I almost kind of feel sorry for them that they have to go face fans at the Summer Summit. Linden especially is gonna get wrecked. I feel the worst for him.

Why would you feel sorry for him?

A. That's the role of the president - tough luck.
B. Who knows, he could've been the one who orchestrated the whole thing.

You should read the comments on their facebook posts. Sounds like there are a lot of fans of the team who believe Linden and Benning do no wrong.

I just have to many good memories of Linden. Sure, he accepted the role of president, but I don't hate him for what he's done for Vancouver and the Canucks when he wore the C or the A. One of my first significant memories of watching hockey as a family was when Linden tipped home the winner vs. Dallas in game 7. Perhaps I'm too nostalgic or empathetic. Perhaps both. But I do feel a certain degree of sorry for him. Much less so for Benning and Weisbrod and Aquilini especially, however.

I fear you might be extremely disappointed to see the general fanbase actually supportive of this regime so far.

Strong leadership would never let this happen.

True. Ownership needs to step in here. Weisbrod did the same with Feaster in Calgary.

Why would four respected guys in the organization, who were all doing a good job, get fired at the same time? The firings were not performance based according to Linden. Rumours are that Benning has been overwhelmed and leaning on Weisbrod to help with GM duties. This feels like a sea-change - Weisbrod conjuring the tempest.

Who knows what's next?

Change was and is necessary. Most people don't like change, fans included, even when they say they do.

The core of this time had become comfortable, way too comfortable. I think that may have extended into management. You may not agree with the moves, but I would be more pissed off after losing to Calgary if no drastic moves were taken.

Take a look at the last three years of Canucks hockey and tell me a complete top-to-bottom overhaul is not needed.

I don't care that the core maybe upset that their favourite trainer is gone. I think they need to be upset, damnit I want them pissed-off that their lack of performance has led to this overhaul.

I want and expect more drastic changes. I will certainly not agree with all of them, some will be for the good and some for the worse, but at least we are seeing the end of this era. I have many found memories, but we all agree that this group is no longer going to be able to bring a cup to Vancouver... so it is time for change.

There are certain guys you go all in with...Gillis was one. Burke was one. Quinn was one. Weisbrod is the furthest thing from that. You go all in on Weisbrod, that is a one way street and anyone who is a history major knows those who dont learn are doomed to repeat. Welcome to your 2015-16 Vancouver Canucks. Nepotism and ignorance rule.

Oh man would I ever love to hear his take on Weisbrod. Is he still on Twitter?

He used to still post in the politics forum. I really miss that guy. It's weird that MS has evolved into the new Wetcoaster. But this forum isn't nearly as interesting without that guy.

Facebook fake accounts are a possibility and there's always some people who don't understand what's going on. Facebook is hardly a good measure for this.

So many underachievers this year. DAL, COL, LA, SJ are all good bets to bounc eback . One may think there are teams on the outs this year. We are definitely one. EDM got better, CGY got better. Good luck to Vancouver hockey fans that are depressive alcoholics. We are in tough this season.

This is one thing people quickly forget.

We only made the playoffs because there were some huge underachievers in the west (Dallas, Colorado, San Jose, and LA).

Add in that Calgary and Edmonton are likely to be better.

The only team who I can objectively say is worse on paper (in the West) is Arizona.

*Edit... whoa... this whole accidental rebuild may actually work....

Wetcoaster was the really smart guy right?

Not really as smart as he was wise. He was like the grandpa who was filled with knowledge. Not to downplay how smart he was, because the man was incredibly smart. But I've never seen a man with that kind of a re-call ability. He could tell you who the Vancouver Blazers' powerplay ran.
