Only 2 trades were made last year between this date and the start of the season (IIRC). Pretty much the team you see now is the team we got. Management is replacing the other guys at the time that you can probably consider as the "down time" for the team.

Why would anyone want to fire Benning when he's probably getting what most of the fans wanted; a top 5 pick this upcoming draft.
There is still no excuse for getting such poor returns on trades. If we are rebuilding, we need to be getting better picks. Not getting ripped apart on trades. Any bozo can get rid of players if the return doesn't matter and end up with a higher draft pick.
Benning thinks Benning should do everything, actually Benning just wanna talk about Benning.
