I'm sure that played a role, but he also worked for Team Canada at the World Championships several times in the years where the Canucks missed the playoffs.
This is my guess too and I hope it's true (not that they are fired, but that they are standing up against this clown). We are seeing who truly cares about this team.
Yeah you gotta think a trainer is going to have more of friendship with the players than a coach would. Gotta wonder if he said something after 3 well liked players were shown the door.

Who's next? It seems like anyone who is not a "Benning" check that...."Weisbrod" guy is being terminated. Mike Burnstein was one of the best in the business, yet he's let go for some reason? Seems like anyone who was worth a damn on the team is being fired.

Despite all this, there appears to still be some Linden fanboy inside me, because I can't shake the feeling he hates this, and might walk out. I mean we all assumed he's just a mouthpiece, even though I'm sure he has final sign off on these move, there's no way this is what he signed up for.

I was very skeptical about Linden because of his days with the NHLPA. You don't get into the situation he got into without being directly responsible. Yeah, there were some other bad players but he was directly involved. He then takes over a franchise after several years out of the league and with no experience and a year later, it's a little like history repeating.
It all smells of a guy with too big an ego thinking he can take over senior positions and learn on the job.
