Luongo deal was not a bad contract. The NHL coming down retroactively on contract's like Luongo's was just ridiculous. NHL approved each and every one of those contracts, their own damn fault. And having a former (fired) GM in Burke running point on that was a complete conflict of interest.

Yup. Burke also helped Mike Murphy? make the call on Aaron Rome's longest suspension in NHL finals history. Mike Murphy was also that guy who talked about how great it would be for the Kings to win a cup and then disallowed that Canucks goal in the playoffs vs the kings years ago. Sorry, I'm getting off-topic.

Yep. I legitimately feel bad for the Sedins, and would not blame them one bit if they wanted to head to a contender for last year or two of deal (we'd have to retain salary).

I obviously don't know how to rate the job a trainer is doing, but Burnstein seemed to be universally highly thought-of and was chosen for Canada at the 2010 Olympics.

I know Burnstein's highly regarded, but he works in Vancouver and the Olympics were in Vancouver. That could easily have been his biggest advantage in getting that appointment.
