lol if we're losing Nylander to keep depth players locked up they better clean house before that happens. This team runs through matthews marner and nylander always has and always will until age takes them out.
You see Mik as a "depth" player, last year yes, now, cmon really? Guy has been playing at top 6 level, 35 goal pace is not a "depth" guy

The Leafs just set a franchise record for wins, home wins and points in a season.

Their young first-line centre set a franchise record for goals scored, and he is the first player in ten years to score 60 goals in a season. He also has 38 even-strength goals, which is 11 more than the next highest scorer with 27 -- a more than one-third increase.

The Leafs also won home-ice advantage for the first round of the playoffs for the first time since 2004.

Naturally, Leafs Nation should be discussing the need to fire the coach and general manager.

Yes, if ever, this is the time to make heads roll!

Yup they were green but they fought tooth and nail against President's trophy winner and lost 3?? games in OT. I don't recall them being outplayed every game.
I am glad you said this. Suddenly I was questioning my memory and thinking I really have Blue and White glasses on.

My memory is besides the second Boston series, it was probably the best they have played in the playoffs

We should talk about it after we see what happens in the playoffs. IMO, they have to make some noise. This is not a young team filled with rookies anymore. The young players we have are young vets already that need to make some noise in the playoffs. The goaltending situation which could be the single most important thing to hold this team back is all on Dubie. We will all have that discussion after the playoffs are over.

Columbus toronto had to play with barrie in their top 4 because trade for brodie didn't work..a 3rd pair AHL caliber d on defensive who need to play like 22 to 25 minute. you add they lost Muzzin...the d group was hurting leafs really hard... it was the worst defensive group of matthews-marner era... because they was so weak, keefe go with a safe approch with dman stick at the blue line offensivly and never took any offensive chance. So leafs attack all series long at 3v5 and struggle offensivly

Last season toronto was different. Toronto was completly outplayed montreal but price was just phenomenal .

This season this d group is the best leafs had last 25 years. Dubas did his job and seriously i cant blame him if they dont win. I add im not sure changing coach will really have an impact here if they still losing. Just remembered cooper 3 years before stanley cup. 1 Swept by columbus and 1 season they missed playoff. Sometime the best move its the move you dont do...

Remember they are playing b2b champions. The first round is probably the toughest series we play. They have an excuse not to blow up management.

So this juggernaut should have no.problem getting out of the first round. No excuses. They had the easier path and totally blew it

If the Leafs lose this series it will be 6 straight first round losses. 3 since Keefe took over and 4 since Dubas took over. What happens if they lose?
If they lose, they are out of the playoffs and have to prepare for the 22-23 season. What else can they do?

You see, this is what I hate. This team and management group have not earned any benefit of the doubt. Last year they had a golden opportunity and they choked it away. It's not like this team has a history of winning series and going far. Why should we give them an excuse?

Goalied
Expected wins/goals
We lost to the SC finalists
Injuries
Losses out of context
We just came off a...... point season
We were tied in the standings
We outplayed them

Never seen so many willing to make excuses for this "elite" team when they crash in the playoffs after parading around all year telling everyone how great the team is.
An elite team should have no.problem facing anyone, and maybe look like they're willing to battle

Playing the back-to-back Stanley Cup Champs is the golden excuse.

Between the record breaking regular season successes and the playoff matchup, there won't be any sort of changes this offseason. Not unless something catastrophic like a no-show sweep happens. Maybe not even then.

You guys hard for management changes are going to be waiting another year at least.

The people who said "one more year" last year and the year before, will say "one more year".

That's great and you probably should be a bit pissed off if 6 years in a row is considered ok by ownership because....... insert excuses here.
Loser mentality - people are already formulating excuses

People aren't doing anything but putting the pieces together. I haven't even said if I wanted changes or not - Im not at all a Keefe fan. Im just looking at a 113 point season and thinking you're going to have a hard time convincing owners that more is wrong than right.

But maybe you and All Mod Cons can park your trucks out front of the ACC and honk your horns for change or something

He's also requested a trade in the not so distant past. Not sure the Leafs will be given any discounts on a re-sign.

Safe bet he moves on come July 1st.

Last year, fine.

Bluejackets? That was the COVID bubble. No one can be faulted for that gong show.

Year before that? Bruins. At best a wash. We were the lower seed. Why should an underdog team be blamed for losing to a better team?

M&M were still pretty young and immature as players during the Bruins series'. In fact, this team was really ahead of schedule in terms of the rebuild. I think they're actually the victims of over inflated expectations, due to the fact they got competitive very fast.

Last year was a complete belly flop, no doubt. Hopefully, they've learned from the experience. As has been mentioned, we've added some better pieces and got rid of some broken old junk. In all honesty, I think we have the hardest team we could possibly meet in round one...damn.

I like both of them. I realize the first round opponent is tough. The first round opponent the last two years wasn't so tough ( and neither were we). Blue Jackets and the Habs. We lost. No excuses now. This is probably the best team Dubas has built. I voted keep both. One last time. If you need a sacrificial lamb. Then it's the coach. This will be a very telling playoff. GO LEAFS GO!!!

Excuses for the imaginary premise of the Leafs losing in the first round to Tampa Bay.
