Speculation: Larkin trade return

Doesn't seem like nearly enough. Typically, there's an upcharge for trading in division. This looks like two young bottom six wingers and the 9th overall pick. We should all be very disappointed if this is the return.
I don’t think they’re bottom six wingers, but I was just commenting that Lindell is not the only trade candidate

What do you think Samoskevich's ceiling is? I can't see it being much higher than a fringe top six winger. I certainly don't see either player you listed as a premium trade piece.

Larkin/Cossa for Des/Simashev would be an excellent outcome for an awful situation. I’d be elated for that kind of return.
Desnoyers/Simashev for Larkin would be a good move in my opinion. Not sure what better situation there is for us out there.

I’d then like to see us make a move for McTavish, and prioritize playing the youth as much as possible next year.

I’d expect us to have to add actually to net them both, but long term we would be set in our D corps:

Ed/Seider
Simashev/ASP
AlJo/AnJo

Des would be our C prospect of the future.
Play the kids, presumably next year is rough and draft another C.

I really struggle with the dichotomy that our prospects can't land us anything but everyone else's prospects are worth as much as Larkin
Be specific.

Which of our prospects are you talking about, and what prospects from other teams are you talking about.

Expand and I can maybe provide a case here.

In a world where Larkin didn’t want out, and we were trading for a player of Larkin’s calibre and contract (like a Robert Thomas), I think our offer would be in the ballpark of

Buyer’s choice between Danielson and Kasper
Buyer’s choice between Bear and MBN
2027 1st
2026 2nd

I think that’s a pretty respectable package, but I also wouldn’t fault the selling team for holding out if they thought they could land a Lundell/Iginla/Desnoyers/McQueen-centered package that they valued higher.

At this point I don't think there's any real info out there other than the 3 original teams and that he was asked to expand the list. Everything else is clickbait or speculated info.

Outside of Raymond and DeBrincat he’d be our best winger immediately. Again, I guess my general point is that that package would be their best prospects they could send us back in trade. I didn’t suggest it would be the best one out there

Lundell is younger and there is still hope that he hasn't reached his potential yet and Larkin will be declining soon
Larkin is a 30 goal, 70 point player, and you can pretty much guarantee it.

Lundell is a maybe. As in, maybe he amounts to more than 45 points a season, but time is running out for him to show it. Lundell is a mystery box. Sure, he might be a boat, but he's probably tickets to a comedy club. Larkin, even when he was Lundell's age, playing with scrubs and pylons, put up more points almost every season except for the social distancing season, which was shortened by a Jamie Benn crosscheck to the neck.

I like the Family Guy reference…

On a more serious note if FLAs 9th overall pick was part of the package for Lundell - I guess that pick could be used to acquire another player ie McTavish.
