Hutson has 18 primary points at even strength. Less than Hanifin, Montour, Dobson, Broberg, Chychrun, Forsling, Pionk, Lacombe, Parayko... (1 more than Marcus Pettersson and Rasmus Sandin)

So Hutson is a generational talent at getting secondary assists AND power play assists. I'm not saying this is useless, but we need to hit the brakes with this comparison with Makar and Lemieux.

Hutson is 7th in Defencemen PPG and T40th in all ppg

Makar had Mack, Rantanen, Landeskog and Burakovsky as top scorers and they were:
5th, 20th, ~50, ~50

Hutson has Suzuki, Caufield, Slafkovsky, and Gallahger as top scorer and they are:
15th, ~35, outside top 50, outside top 100

so he probably has had a very similar rookie season to makar, at least offensively.

Hutson is a couple inches shorter than makar and has a worse shot. However if he takes another step foward it wouldn't be crazy for him to enter top 5-10 defencemen territory

I'm curious why some people still think he won't be as good as Makar. Makar had like 0.86ppg rookie season and Hutson is at 0.8 ppg.

He puts up almost as many assists as a defenseman as the generational talent Crosby did during his rookie year. And now he even surpassed Mario. This is crazy.

Hum. What is your point? You cannot see the value of primary points at even strength? That excludes the power play (numerous one-timers by Laine which are not related to Hutson’s greatness) and it excludes the noise (secondary assists).

This response of yours is getting tired, dude, and it's getting grating and embarassing. People watch the games, even if you don't believe it. The Habs are a fun and exciting team playing for high stakes, it's actually pretty likely that casual fans have seen their games.

It's not in the spirit of good discussion to dismiss criticism you don't agree with by saying, over and over again, "you must not watch the games."

It's entirely possible, logical, and likely that people watch Hutson and play and don't think he is as defensively sound as you, a noted Habs homer and tire pumper, do.

Plus he'll get even more eyes on him as those games will be electric. Celebrini and the Sharks sit in contrast on both fronts, which really hurts his case and is a shame.

If Celebrini is going to win, he's going to have to out produce Hutson AND voters are going to have to watch the games to see everything that doesnt end up on the scoresheet. Hutson gets/will get that benefit
