Lane Hutson Rookie season

From what I can tell he's talking about voters, not about people here. That's a pretty significant difference. One is disdain for the media, which is pretty commonplace. The other is an ad hominem against HFBoards posters.
He also uses it passive aggressively to insinuate the same thing about other posters. He’s done it repeatedly. And no, voters vs posters isn’t a significant difference. He’s still claiming that people unfairly favour Hutson because they haven’t watched Celebrini.

Kid is going to get abused in the playoffs if the Habs end up not blowing it. Gonna be a whole new world for him.
I mean we'd be playing the biggest forward group in the league in the first round so probably there will be an adjustment to nothing being a penalty. I don't see another team in the east or even the west that's a bigger challenge for Hutson. They've only got 3 full season regulars that are under 6'2.

Caps aren't a team that will be in the mix for the next 5-10 years though. Losing Ovi and Carlson inevitably aging is going to slow them down a bit.

Generally speaking though size was not a huge issue for him most of the year.

Quinn Hughes hasn't been abused in the playoffs either, his teams just don't make them.

I expect there to be a learning curve if the Habs make it, for sure. He’s still a rookie defenseman, like no shit. Of course, the haters will run with any mistakes and use it to lie and push their agenda as usual. They’ve done it all year.

He now has 9th most assists for a rookie ever.

I'm curious why some people still think he won't be as good as Makar. Makar had like 0.86ppg rookie season and Hutson is at 0.8 ppg.

He puts up almost as many assists as a defenseman as the generational talent Crosby did during his rookie year. And now he even surpassed Mario. This is crazy.
Nowhere close to being the goal scorer Makar is.

Your list answers your own question. Why would some people think Hutson won't be as good as Makar? Well, Joe Juneau was clearly better than Lemieux, righ? And Neal Broten and Mathew Barzal?

Some people want more than 1 season before they annoint a player anything. There was this high drafted rookie dman named Tyler Myers who had an amazing rookie season and won the Calder for his efforts, and never came close to those point totals ever again.
I would agree with you that we need to see more than 1 season but we're not talking about a guy coming out of nowhere with this kind of production (like Myers was).

Hutson is a guy who outscored Makar and Hughes at the NCAA level at the same age. This is not out of the blue.

I was so mad at the draft that the teams I cheered for picked several players each before Hutson was selected.

Stick to nascar he passed Hawerchuck.

Shame Mario and Cheli didn't get to play 80 games, they would have landed higher on the list no doubt. I'll give credit where it's due, good accomplishment by Hutson. Some great players on that list

Because he isn’t, he won’t be, and it’s unfair to him that this comparison is being made. Hutson will be a fire player in this league and a sure fire 1D for MTL for years to come. But I’ll eat my fist if he comes close to as dynamic as Makar.
