You know who leads the rookie defensemen in primary points at even strength? Simon Edvinsson!!! Not Hutson.

Hutson has 18 primary points at even strength. Less than Hanifin, Montour, Dobson, Broberg, Chychrun, Forsling, Pionk, Lacombe, Parayko... (1 more than Marcus Pettersson and Rasmus Sandin)

So Hutson is a generational talent at getting secondary assists AND power play assists. I'm not saying this is useless, but we need to hit the brakes with this comparison with Makar and Lemieux.

Kid is incredible defensively. Rarely loses the puck. He rarely plays defense when on he's on the ice because he doesn't have too.

Hutson and Suzuki singlehandedly carried the Habs to the playoffs. Extraordinary season from a special rookie dman. Calder win in a landslide.
