Yeah looks exactly like what we've seen on the ice.
I've always wanted to know who decides what makes a GF expected
Because honestly I wasn't expecting much of anything with a lot of his possession.

Seeing how he's in the top 20 for assists, maybe the problem is your expectations.

You don't understand expected stats and yet you act like it means nothing. Biased much? It's a model that quantifies +/- against shot quality and save%. It gives a better idea of the quality of play vs situational play. The best players are usually always high in xGF%. McDavid, McKinnon and Barkov are always high up there as they either or both create and/or prevent high danger shots. There are also players who are used as exploits who often end-up there as they get better chances.

LOL Crazy how he starts converting when he's finally getting reps with our best forwards.

Right. Like most players, especially rookies.... Not that you'd notice, but it's not the first time he's top 20 in assists over the season, so your assertion isn't even valid. He had a small slump. Again, y'know, a rookie.

Dipsy Dolittle is becoming Dipsy Doing-a-little more.

Two positive games in a row.

You must be pretty bored by the tank.

I've been watching hockey far too long to buy into stats that don't reflect what I'm seeing on the ice.
Plenty of one against the world rushes for Lane with no one to pass to is not an expected goal for.
My argument was about him not being a net positive player.
I don't give a crap about assists if he's also constantly leaking goals.

He's improving that is all I care about. Net positive for two games in a row. :jump:

He's been fantastic lately. Really excited to watch him today in Boston. Maybe capture some of the magic from his NCAA days. The amazing thing is that defensemen don't normally peak until their mid to late 20s.

One of the most impressive rookie starts I’ve ever seen from a Hab.

He could still falter as the season progresses but people are gonna have to be fine with it. They won’t be but they’ll have to be. You don’t have this kind of start as a 20 y/o rookie D man unless you’re an extremely special talent.

I think Slaf is gonna be an incredible player and Hutson could still be the true no.1 pick. That’s how good he can be. Right now it seems like we have the 2 best players from that draft which is insane and will radically change the look of this team for years

Agreed. I think this summer I posed the question would you trade Hutson for anyone who was picked before him. I wouldn't. I don't think I'd trade Slaf for anyone picked #2-61 either.

He's being compared to Tyson Barrie on the ''main'' boards.

That's because everything we have is considered meh by others. No other fan will pump up our own and talk about their true potential. If another teams fan base had Hutson, they would pump him up as well and we would be like meh... too small.

Pretty standard on the main boards. Especially towards the Habs and anything we got.

To be fair, we have had a lot of meh.
