I really like him and Matheson together, i think both of them together on the first PP would do wonders.
Hutson qb and Matheson right boards shooting was not bad looking at all.

Slaf in front, Coco left and Suzuki doing Suzuki things. PP2 would suck again though… You need D’s that can face top opposition on pp2 so Guhle fits there I guess. We never saw him on the pp he’s probably good at it.

It makes sense because we don't have four good forwards. Dach hasn't shown he's worth of pp1 and even slaf is struggling this year. Cole and Nick are the only real pp1 threats. The rest of the pp is cycling the puck for one of them to shoot. I think slaf may even lose that pp1 spot to Demidov as soon as next year.

Maybe even sooner than that when Laine comes back… But you need a front net presence, Slaf’s spot is safe for that reason alone.

I’ve been saying it for a while though, I don’t understand why we’re running with a 4F PP set-up considering how limited we are with talented forwards. I’d like to run a 2D set-up with one strong PMD + one good point shot on each wave.

I’d try Hutson + Guhle on the 1st wave and Matheson + Xhekaj on the 2nd wave. I like the idea of a real point shot threat if only for the fact that it should help create shooting lanes for the shooter on the half wall. I think Xhekaj on the PP could be our Souray 2.0.

With all that being said, the PP is performing fine so far this season, so I don’t expect big changes anytime soon.

Suzuki hasn't been all that great on the PP either though. Suzuki has 1 more point than Dach and Slafkovsky.

Matheson, Huston, Caufield, and Gallagher have been our best PP producers so far, outside of Dvorak and and Heineman who have under 15 minutes, so I didn't include them.

Yeah, he keeps finding open forwards and making sneaky, accurate passes. I'm going to wait a bit to see how the league adapts to his quick, jerky pivots, but this kid's obviously on a different tier than anyone else we've got.

If we had more players who could one-time Hutson's passes, he'd be leading all rookies in points.
They need to play Hutson with CC a little more. Those passes will get buried.

While that may be true Nick is usually the one with the most touches on every PP and is the guy calling out to team mates to rotate. I would guess he probably leads the team in zone entries on the pp as well. I don't think they have any success if you take him off. I don't think there's a huge difference between a secondary or tertiary assist. One gets credited and sometimes you did nothing while tertiary assists never get credited and sometimes created the entire play or situation.

I just think he's been carried on the PP by Caufield's shot. Because in all honesty, our PP still looks like shit compared to when I watch other teams. We move the puck but never really open lanes. And everyone knows exactly what we're trying to do.

Sure but why not get engagement with actual topics your engaged on.

I don't know any Habs fans who called Hutson a Norris caliber Dman.
He easily could be. Especially since the Norris is mostly based on offense. Not like his D has been bad. Dude looks like an utter phenom out there.

That all being said, I’ve been a very vocal supporter of his but I can see him hitting a wall. To go from playing a handful of games a year in college to 82 games must be crazy. If he somehow keeps this up all year then anything’s possible with this kid.

I see that Snake Boisvert is back to attacking Habs fans for their Lane Hutson takes even though no Habs fans have ever claimed what he says.

I swear anytime Habs fans get excited about a prospect, it bothers him.
The issue I have with him, is that he will have no issue sending flowers to his own personal crushes like Trevor Connelly, Quentin Musty and Conor Geekie but when it comes to prospects he had ranked lower he has to be very 'objective' sudenly and overly critical like with Beck and Hutson. He never liked them and he will never give them praise.

I am a big snake70 fan so I'll do him a favor here and as a Habs fan, I officially claim Hudson to be Norris caliber.

This clown had Nichuskin above Mackinnon in 2013 and I hammered him before that draft..on the Mathias Brunet's blog time and time again.

Brunet put the Snake on his hero's list cause of Jeff Skinner but he did so many dumb choices over the years like Duchesse before Herman and Tavares
