Post-Game Talk: Time to finish the story

Terrible season from him, I was thinking he was shedding 100k from his new contract every game he played, then he flipped a switch and went beast mode. What a beauty.

We need to learn that the season is meaningless outside of making the playoffs.
4th in dmen scoring. Amongst the best in the league for GF%, SCF%, HDCF%. Played in all 82 games, 67 points +14, 11% of possessions were turnovers (6th best in the league). This is what qualifies for a terrible season nowadays from Oilers fans.

Damn good games from SKinner and Ekholm too. Can't climb this chart cause it's cumulative, but can see where Ekholm would be if he had 4-5 games like this one.

Really enjoyed seeing the Viking throwing some hits on guys coming at him, and making some nice defensive plays again.

So glad to have him back and see him shake off some rust tonight.

Man, McDavid looked like a f***ing psycho after that goal. I hope he devours Bob.

The people who shit on him all year completely disregard stats and have a goldfish brain that can only remember his blooper-reel mistakes.

After McDavid and Drai, it's Bouchard for me. Just an incredible playoff performer.
Knob kinda touched on the regular season after this game. Just how lots of guys were thinking about playoffs all year and just "punching the clock" through the regular season. I think we saw that, I still think only Drai and Perry played up to expectations this regular season.

It's crazy how many players have hit another level these playoffs. And the contrast with the regular season with many guys is so extreme. Season has been a great story, I hope it has a happy ending :)

I think it was because Kulak struggled on the right side. Bouchard and Kulak have been a beastly pair. Played them together in the third against Rantanen
I disagree. Knobloch said before the game he would look to manage Ekholms minutes. That’s exactly what I expected to see. Kulak actually played more than anyone in this game.

Hello darkness my old friend

This team picks apart goalies like nothing I've ever seen.

'OMG! LA has a Vezina nominee and former SC winner in net this time!'

.889

'OMG! Adin Hill beat the Oilers before and was on Team Canada!'

.872

'OMG! Oettinger beat Colorado and Winnipeg!'

.842

And they figured something out last year on Bobrovsky after game three. Yeah, he was good again in game seven but he can't do it for seven games. Not against this team.
I wonder if Dallas is the next victim of the dismantling of the Western Conference by the Oilers? We cleft both the Canucks and Flames in shambles already and LA just can’t keep up even though they are younger. Did the dynasty Oilers do this?

Nill is an excellent GM, but basically swapping Tanev for Ceci and having the worst bottom 4 D in the playoffs is inexcusable. Just bizarre they thought they could win with that horrid group.
Their defense looked shallow from the start. Ceci as No.3 in icetime (albeit with Heiskanen not at 100%) was a red flag. But they did not score much either. You can't expect beat a high-scoring team like the Oilers when you score 2 goals in games.

Florida is next. They’re gonna lose Bennett, Bobrovsky is like 38. Snatch this from them and it’s a slow downhill fall for them.

How NUTS is it that Bouchard gets flack for terrible defensive lapses and giveaways all year but when the playoffs roll around they completely stop? He has been absolutely fantastic.

To be fair he’s kinda baffling in the regular season at times. But even before the playoffs, I was saying that he amps his game up for the playoffs. He’s done that again. Hes been unreal.
