Chevy made out pretty damn good here considered what Habs fans were telling us his true value was. Looks like they were wildly off as usual.

LA literally pulled off the HFBoards "here's a bunch of redundant pieces for your star" trade proposal turning Durzi, Vilardi, Kupari and Iafallo into PLD and are somehow getting criticized for it.

I don't think Durzi is involved.

And how consistent was his playing time or his role or his development..
the kid has talent out the ass but is a winger, play him enough and let him make mistakes and he’s going to shine.. Shit, you’ll see that this upcoming season and I’ll be sure to revisit this conversation
Would love to see him go to that next tier. Huge fan of his. Agree wing is a better spot as well. Hope his consistency and his IQ improve.

Vilardi was redundant in 2022, he resuscitated his career somewhat since then. its PLD's contract thats the issue.

Congrats to Winnipeg and PLD. You both did well. LA I hope this works out for ya. Probably an accurate cost to keep him from going to his preferred destination.

I’m so tired of all these attitude posts. Kings have dealt with Richards, Carter, Kovalchuk, L. Andersen, and Lemieux’s attitudes just fine.
I wouldn't call that a great track record. Carter ended up being no problem whatsoever, but Richards started declining before the age of 30, was into hard drugs and had to be bought out, Kovalchuk bailed and went back to Russia, Lias Andersson looks like he won't be an NHLer and Lemieux was recently traded for a player in the same mold as him (giving the impression that it might've been personality related).

Druzi was traded for a 2nd round pick that was then included in this trade.

Wtf? How is that possible? There are more people in Manitoba and Alberta that cheer for MTL than people in Quebec?
The Alberta teams and Winnipeg are not an original 6 team and they are definitely no Montreal. The fan base expands everywhere in North America.

Exactly.

They have, in effect, traded Faber, Vilardi, Iafallo, Kupari, Durzi and a first rounder this year for two 2nd line players - then maxed them out.
Calling Fiala a 2nd line player is nuts. Also there's a huge difference between signing a player to an 8 year deal when they're 25 and you're locking up their entire prime vs. when they're 29 or 30 and you're mostly paying for decline years.

I know we talked about the possibility of getting him on our boards and a lot of posters were high on him. If his health issues are passed him, I think we get a very good top 6 player. I actually really like the sneaky pickups of Iaffalo and Kupari a lot more. Both of those guys will fit into Bones style of hockey very well.

I still think PLD is a great player and you guys are very likely to see his best years. LA got the best player so far and that is usually a good thing.
Im a ducks fan :)... but a fan of vilardi(and the kings hfboards in general)

PLD is good.

Vilardi if he can stay healthy can be just as good as PLD imo.
Iaffalo is a servicable middle 6 guy(prob best suited for 3rd line tho)
Kupari could be interesting, i honestly havnt seen much on him.
The 2nd, worst case scenario is trade bait at the deadline if you guys have a strong season.

Hate the trade, but I think how bad LA got it in the butt is a bit exaggerated.

Iaffallo is an ok player. Nothing bad to say about him other than he's just kind of there. Doesn't hurt a team, puts in a good effort and has some offensive instincts, but there's a lot of players like him.

Kupari has incredible speed and flashes some high end skill at times. He'll even throw a hit every now and then and scrum it up. But his hockey sense is so bad. He makes some incredibly bad decisions often. A bit of a question mark as he could turn into something, but so far the hockey IQ part or lack thereof is what's holding him back.

As a Kings fan who has watched every single NHL game both players have played, I don't think either is really that big of a loss.

The pain is losing Vilardi. Incredibly talented and I wouldn't be surprised if he matches PLD's offensive output.
