Have you looked at the career highs of the players coming back?

Vialrdi -41(once)
Kupari - 15
Iafallo - 43 ( 4 years ago, when he was 25 yo...those days are likely in rear view mirror)

Meanwhile, PLD has scored 60 or more points 3 times. He is not a perfect player, but he is a far better player, playing a more important position, than any of the other three players.
So true.
Vialrdi is the wildcard.
If he stays healthy and continues to grow than the Jets did pretty good . If not than they got Nothing there to write home about.

I know we talked about the possibility of getting him on our boards and a lot of posters were high on him. If his health issues are passed him, I think we get a very good top 6 player. I actually really like the sneaky pickups of Iaffalo and Kupari a lot more. Both of those guys will fit into Bones style of hockey very well.

I still think PLD is a great player and you guys are very likely to see his best years. LA got the best player so far and that is usually a good thing.
Kupari also faced sheltered competition. It remains to be seen whether he can do, but at best he's a minor improvement to the 4th line. Iaffalo OTOH is the type of player I think more teams should be going after. Solid middle 6 players tend to get squeezed to pay the top guys, but that just means they provide a lot more value for the $ than people realize.

2nd round pick were never rumored.

I believe it was rumored some pick without specifics.

Can you please provide link to your info?

P.S Also it was Harkins and another player from Winnipeg.

Dunno where I saw it originally but I heard
Dubois, Harkins for Vilardi, Iafallo, Korpisalo's rights and 57th. I've been refreshing for days and days

Contracts and everything else aside.

As an Oiler fan, I ask: is LA improved on the ice with this trade, or not? I think not.

So an extremely slow young winger with a bad back, a very mediocre bottom-6C, and a winger who was looked at like a cap dump until he scored one particularly important playoff goal, and a 2nd round pick a year from now. For a genuine young Top-6C?

Yikes Winnipeg. Really couldn't even drum up enough Montreal news to make something better happen?

They're definitely better. Dubois is a very unique player who elevates come playoff time. I think thats wishful thinking on your end.

I mean they're no ten goal scorer "Dubois like" Dvoraks but we'll see how it pans out.

I think Blake/Robitalle probably looked at it like:

"We can only afford to pay 8.5million on players. Thus we cant keep all 3 of Vilardi, Iafallo and Kupari anyway. So we might as well just pay PLD since we think hes the better player."

Maybe it turns out to be true but I think this is some really poor asset management on their end (imo).

People are calling this a win for Winnipeg.

Quality>quantity imo.

I'm not seeing anything great that Winnipeg got in return.
We got all that for a guy who Montreal fans wanted to get for free or by offer sheeting, so that’s a win. Our hopes were not high, and this return is easily double what I thought would happen.
