Pretty good deal for LA, I wonder what the ask was from Montreal, I guess they didn't have a Vilardi type available?

Dubois is just 2 years older than Vilardi.
Iafallo is replaceable (unless Kings fans have a different opinion?)
Kupari seems like a project at this point

Are we going to ignore the cap going up in the upcoming seasons?

Contracts will only be getting more expensive each season. Plus, Dubois wasn’t going to sign for any discount. He just joined the Kings, those other guys had a prior relationship with their teams.

It’s not a bad deal, it’s fair.
I remember a certain GM who did this

Moore and Iafallo are essentially the same player on similar contracts (same AAV, Moore just signed his though).

They did, his name is Dach. Vilardi is a center that was moved to and also plays wing.

Impartial fan but I can see the Kings actually getting past the Oilers next playoffs, barring any moves from Edmonton. I like how LA is constructing itself in the shorter term.
Kings still don't really have a goalie and defense is still a mess.

Parts unknown
Aho, Stutzle, Tage Thompson, larkin makes 8.7

And i disagree about Hintz. He is definitely a 1C.
Aho is a very border line 1C. He would be far better served being a 2C. But we do have 32 teams in the league now. Tage was a 3rd line player until 1/2 way through last season. since then he has performed as a 1C. He decided to take a long term deal instead of banking on him being able to continue his torrid pace. Larkin again is a layer who would be so much better as a 2C. Stuzle signed his contract from his ELC. how many other players not on the Leafs sign that deal?

We will see about Hintz.

Now that it's really really almost real, I like this trade even better. Any word on Harkins and the 2nd that were rumoured?
2nd round pick were never rumored.

I believe it was rumored some pick without specifics.

Can you please provide link to your info?

P.S Also it was Harkins and another player from Winnipeg.

He asked for 6.9 when he wasn't worth that.

$10 million is more than he is worth so I think you're right that he'll ask for it.

His father is really involved in the negotiations, so it will be a lot to sign him.

Could the Kings win a SC with Kopitar-Danault-Lizotte- Kupari as the teams 4 centers this season?

Yes or no.

PLD won’t be asked to kill penalties, he will be asked to win exploitable matchups (likely with Fiala and Kaliyev) while Danault is now in a position where he is best suited (3C) checking the other teams top centers.
Danault was already taking the other teams' top centers. This does not change it.

The Kings could win a cup with Byfield at 2/3C, if he continues his improvement, and someone like Nic Dowd as the 4th C. That is a cheap addition leaving assets and cap room to fix other holes.

PLD will likely lead the team in penalties by a lot and the Kings need people to kill them. The Kings traded two of their penalty killers, including a center. It compounds an existing problem.

That's Draisaitl money 🤯
And how many years ago did Draisaitl sign his contract?

Caps going up and so was the future contracts. This guy just turned 25 the other day. It’s not going to be one of those contracts where you eat the last three years of it, as the player ages out.

Matthews is rumored to be wanting around 14 million a year

Well, congrats to LA. It seems like a good price for PLD.

Montreal is involved in nearly every rumour, no gonna lose sleep over that :D

We got our own PLD in.... Newhook haha
