Because PLD can't win faceoffs or kill penalties and the Kings included a center that plays pk??? This means Kopitar has to spend more time killing penalties when he clearly doesn't have the speed to do that anymore. The team has been weakened by this trade.

He should be fired yesterday.
Could the Kings win a SC with Kopitar-Danault-Lizotte- Kupari as the teams 4 centers this season?

Yes or no.

PLD won’t be asked to kill penalties, he will be asked to win exploitable matchups (likely with Fiala and Kaliyev) while Danault is now in a position where he is best suited (3C) checking the other teams top centers.

Why do the Jets have to sign him? I thought you could do 8 year deals if they’re on your list?

He has been a 2C until this playoff. So as I said what true 1C is making 8.5 million
He’s scored 72 and 75 points the past two seasons, easily clearing Dubois. One of those seasons he had Bowness as his head coach, and I believe both seasons he secured Selke votes. He’s a true, two way number one. Can’t really say the same for Dubois at all.

You don’t see the difference between a 25 yr old and a 32 yr old?

The age difference doesn't magically make him a better player.

He's a good 2C that's getting paid average 1C money.

Zib is barely better than PLD. Kadri signed for 7 because no one was bidding on him. Also he is a 2C/3C.

Today I learned that guy with a career high in points in 87 is a "2C/3C".

Man, you have some awful takes in here.

Now that it's really really almost real, I like this trade even better. Any word on Harkins and the 2nd that were rumoured?

Yeah, what 43 point smurf is making $8m?
Not just Caufield. 8 contracts are thrown around like crazy to everyone coming off an ELC. Hard to argue someone with over 400 games experience isn't worth what guys with not even two full NHL seasons are getting.

Cap is also supposed to move up. Escrow will be paid off. Even with economic trends not looking good, inflation should carry things higher.

Forget the SC, can the Kings win a playoff round with an 8.5 million dollar 2C that can’t do a single thing well 5 on 5? Cause that’s what we’re getting.

Only way I forgive Blake for this is if Vilardi is on the verge of a wet fart ending his career.

Here's an idea... why not let the offensive minded forward play offense? I know as a Habs fan you're probably used to the mentality that all forwards should be able to play shut down defense. It's why we've been trash for so long and so has our player development. Let PLD do his thing. They have Danault and other guys that can play shut down

You just want to use points? then if he was on Edmonton Zib is the 4th line center. Learn something new everyday.
