That's more than Aho/Hintz/Stutzle, he'd be in the top 15 for Centers, in terms of highest cap hit
Are we going to ignore the cap going up in the upcoming seasons?

Contracts will only be getting more expensive each season. Plus, Dubois wasn’t going to sign for any discount. He just joined the Kings, those other guys had a prior relationship with their teams.

It’s not a bad deal, it’s fair.

I must’ve missed the season that he was a point per game player.

I love Gabe, and I’ve always backed the pic, and always supported him even when other things phones were upset and ready to give up.

The two players are one year apart. One has played six years in the league with three near 30 goal seasons already. The other one had his first bit of success last year, and then got injured.

I wish Filardi nothing but the best if the trade does happen, but in no way, is PLD a downgrade.

Winnipeg will enjoy Iafallo. The guy just competes even for a smaller stature guy. He wins bottles and frees up pucks. He has a bit of a carpet put on a team that can afford it. He will be a positive asset. I was really hoping that Turcotte would turn into a better version of Iafallo. Say a top six version of Iafallo.

I was really hoping it was a Lizotte shipped out and Kupari took his spot on the fourth line center. I like Kupari. He has its ups and downs, but is still young. We’ve been a bit blinded by Kempe over here and I think some fans are thinking he will truck the same way as Kempe but I just don’t see those tools. I see a bottom, six big bodied able skater they can put up some points.

I also really wanted elevator add Dillon to the trade

I think valardi has the potential to be better than PLD long term. And Iafaliol, you win with guys like him in the playoffs. Unless Helleybuck is included, the king's get hosed.

How is trading for a C not fixing one of their issues?
Do you honestly believe a team can win a SC with Phil Danault as a 2C in his age 31 season?
Because PLD can't win faceoffs or kill penalties and the Kings included a center that plays pk??? This means Kopitar has to spend more time killing penalties when he clearly doesn't have the speed to do that anymore. The team has been weakened by this trade.

Do Kings fans like Blake as GM? What's the consensus there?
He should be fired yesterday.

What's lost in all this is how bad the kings are at drafting and how overrated in general prospects are since when all is said and done a team once heralded for their pool really has nothing to show for it and ended up getting their pieces via trade.

Sadly this.

It's a massive indictment of a team's drafting and/or development when so many of what was once one of the best prospect pools in the league have been traded away.

And of the most highly rated ones, there's an argument that so far compared to their age/draft year, that not a single one has exceeded or even met pre-draft expectations.

Well, Stutzle signed his as an RFA off his ELC. We'll see what Aho gets. His contract is up next year. I can't imagine him getting less than $9m now.

Hintz is almost 2 years older than PLD, so Dallas got a break on the final years of his contract when he's in his mid to late 30s. That contract is heavily front loaded.
