Tonight, both Shore and Lucic scored their first goals as LA Kings with shots fired off their sticks. That pleases me almost as much as the 2 points.

was at the game tonight, and McNabb really had some issues tonight but I saw a lot of what Muzzin went through when he was learning, so I believe this early season experience will be so valuable come playoff time.

I'd be worried if the playoffs started next week but since we're still in 2015, I'll be patient and let the kid suffer some growing pains.

on another note, I haven't been to a game in a long while but its good to see that the Ice Girls have been upgraded to stripper looking status, my manliness approves :naughty:

Some scheysters are already selling the Cartman bobbleheads for over $70 on eBay. I'm keeping mine, but sucks for those who wanted one and couldn't attend the game. Would be wise to put them for sale for the holidays.

I also think the Cartman bobblehead may be more dependable on defense than Christian Ehrhoff.

I was at the game tonight as well. Kings played sloppy as hell but at least we stole a win. The Oilers fans around me were super cool, which was a nice change of pace for visiting fans at Staples. They knew their hockey too.

Also the Cartman bobble heads are freaking amazing. They are huge and pretty well made. Stick tap to whoever made that giveaway happen.

Fully expected this. I've got two; probably will just keep them for a while.

I have a bunch of Kings **** I've gotten over the five years I've been an STH just collecting dust in the garage. I will probably just keep the **** for my grandkids one day. The Kings shrine I have in the house is small but effective: two Stanley Cups, photos taken with the Stanley Cup, Stanley Cup medallion coins, framed photos of the Kings posing with the Stanley Cup on the ice after the win for both titles, etc.

You get the idea.

firstly to classify - I live in New Zealand
seeing the posts re cost USD265.00 for 2 seats for 1 game !! is that correct - anybody give me an idea of what you would pay
i.e - a season ticket to all home games
or the cost range of a seat at a home game regular season

Sloppy, but I'll gladly take this win.

In other years, the Kings would lose games like this. This year, we are finding ways to win. This team is 11-6 and it's not like they are PDO'ing their way to some fantastic record.

The reason the Kings don't win divisions is they've never been able to pull out crappy games like this. All teams suck up the ice here and there, and all teams have other teams that are difficult match-ups. Speed is how you beat the Kings, and Edmonton has that in spades. Just because they are a dumpster fire doesn't change that. The difference this year is the Kings have discovered how to win those games.

In the last 14 games, the Kings have lost once by two and twice by 1 goal. They haven't been out of a game in over a month now. In past seasons, we would all moan about how the Kings would throw away points by losing games early in the season to crappy teams and how it would haunt them down the road. Now, that the Kings aren't losing those games, we whine about how they look like crap while they are doing it. You'd think the defense was terrible with what we read around here, with all kinds of concerns. Yet they are 3rd in the league in GA/games...

Lighten up people ;)

I'm pretty sure the length of tenure as a ticket holder has something to do with the price. I've had them for nearly 20 years now, and talking to folks around me I'm certainly paying a few bucks less per ticket.

But in a nutshell, cheaper season tickets are going to run you around $1500 per for the upper ends, and good seats in the lower bowl are going to be over $5000 per seat.

Keep in mind that I've been upgrading season to season and ended up last season with my dream seats...section 111, center ice, 18 rows up. I'm keeping them until I die. Unfortunately, I couldn't afford the four I had last season so I cut them down to two for this season and beyond...

They run $132.50 per seat this season, up from $125.50 from last season.

In addition, they make you pay full price for the 2 pre-season games; games I never attend and that I believe are a ripoff but what the hell...it's the price you pay for season seats and I get first dibs on my seats for all playoff games, so there is that.

Do the math: $132.50 x 2 = $265 per game x 43 games = $11,395. I'm lucky to afford this luxury, and believe me, it's just that. A luxury.

So we will see you holding up a LA Kings Schecter guitar so enough, eh? :)

Most of those folks are in the 30+ year range, so it's going to be a while I think

One thing I do know about the giveaways is they are not always random. Someone I see frequently at games told me before the fan appreciation game last season that his rep told them they were getting a jersey because they bought a lot of extra tickets this year in addition to their 4 seats. Sure enough, his seats popped up on the big screen.

They were drinking pretty heavily as it was the last game and the Kings were out, otherwise I never would have discovered that interesting tidbit.

Hey, I was at the game tonight. If anyone has a reason to *****, it was me, right? Blowing $265 every regular season game for two seats, and this is hockey?
Are two seats 265 dollar each game ?

edit: I just read your other comment. This price is insane.

Whats the deal with this bobblehead ? Everyone got one for free before the game ?

As ebay expert myself. I know prices are eventually high in the beginning but after some time they will go down significantly.

I had Gaborik picked for FGOTG and then changed my mind before i finalized it
Had a feeling he was going to have a break out game against edmonton, lets hope it continues and mebbe helps Kopitar get going as well. Was nice to get the win, was nervous that we would blow it after they got the game tied up.

I just woke my wife up laughing at this.

Forbort:
Project
College
American
1st Round
Not Traded For
Rookie
High Expectations
Doesn't have to clear waivers
Won Calder Cup
Had to actually try out for team

McNabb:
Learning
Juniors
Canadian (even Western Canada?)
3/4 Round
Traded For
Never was a rookie with the Kings
Low Expectations
Would have to clear waivers
Didn't win Calder Cup
Never tried out, given position

It's obvious to see why McNabb is so far ahead of him in the Kings organization.

Yeah, I'm sure a lot of politicking goes on. It also doesn't surprise me that all that "fan appreciation" is all pre-planned...now I don't feel so bad about blowing off the game.

The fans that are getting the guitars have had season tickets from 1988/1989 recently, so I doubt 2010 will be rolling around anytime soon for me. Would love one of those guitars tho to add to my collection.

You are in total agreement with my fianceé. She hates that I am paying this amount but I've been a Kings nut just about my entire life (they were not even in existence until I was 9). And these are my dream seats.

Of course, I couldn't afford these tickets if I didn't have a great job that pays me well. If I lose the job, the seats go. (That would be a dark, dark day in my life.) I can handle the $11 grand each season...obviously, I doubt I could say that prior to 2010. Wouldn't even have thought of season tickets prior to this job, really.
