This is about as dissatisfying a win can get. The Kings looked like ass in the 2nd and for parts of the 3rd. Just simply making mistakes that shouldn't be made at this level.

Erhoff was fine up until that **** head Ribiero rattled his melon.

He was bad since game one. Lets not sugar coat it.

Positives tonight:

Shore looked better and played bigger minutes. Pearson was a beast, and Gabo looked like he had a pulse for once.

Stole two points from EDM

On to the next game.

He was shaky at first, but then I distinctly remember him playing well with McBain for our 7 game winning streak. It finally felt like we had a decent bottom D pair, and then Ribiero pretty much made sure he regressed into suckage. I'm not sugar coating anything.

The other scary part, Kopitar's ice time continues to decline. That is not good.

On a night Pearson/Gabo put up Five points, Kopi came up ZERO's.

There was a time when it was pretty much impossible to get the puck from Kopitar along the boards wasn't there?

It's been an odd last 100 or so games for the guy.

By every metric, stat, adv stat ETC: (even eye test) the guy is easily the Kings Worst defender, and it's not even close.

The metrics even include his average play from about game four on. The guy has stunk since game one.

McNabb is pretty much tied with him for awfulness. What I'm trying to get across is that Erhoff seriously got his eggs scrambled when Ribiero boarded him and its had an effect on his game ever since. It looked like he was going to pull it together before that.

We have more ROWs than any team not named Dallas, Montreal, or NYR. ugly game or not, that's fantastic. We wanted them to take advantage of the early schedule, and on paper, they have; definitely some things to figure out moving forward, but they know that. I'd be more concerned if they played like they did tonight more frequently, though I am worried they want to counterpunch pond hockey with teams like the Yotes and Oilers, because you know those teams are more than happy to play that game with us instead of our game. Just figure things out before hitting the road, hit reset on the details and all will be well.

Feels good to be three clear of the next team in the division, especially with a game in hand over a few of em.

Absolutely not. McNabb HAS been messy the last two games but we can't ignore before that, he was fantastic. Gonna have to think 2013 Muzzin with him, take the good with the bad as he learns in big minutes. I also agree that Ehrhoff took a turn for the worse after the Ribeiro crap but he wasn't great before that either, only serviceable.

A win is a win. Glad we got the points. Should have destroyed them though.

Agree about McNabb. It's a learning process.

Stats don't lie, they don't when you take the (whole) picture in view. The stats say Ehrhoff has been bad since he set foot on the ice in a Kings uniform.

It is, what it is.

Just like the Stats say Dustin Brown is not worth his contract.

Have to disagree here. McNabb has been bad for quite awhile and Muzzin made up for his mistakes with offense. I just think top pairing is way too much for McNabb. 3rd pairing is where he belongs.

Kings have limited options, someone has to play with Doughty.

The Kings can't afford to move Muzzin back up, they need him anchoring a second line.

McNabb reminds me too much of Keaton Ellerby, can throw his weight around and that's about it.

What? McNabb has had a couple bad games but he has been light years ahead of Erhoff in terms of play.

oh **** off with that.

McNabb has made his mistakes... But has been put in a huge role and has really done alright.

Ellerby was a **** sandwich.

Oh wait. Yes, I can believe that.

Hey, I was at the game tonight. If anyone has a reason to *****, it was me, right? Blowing $265 every regular season game for two seats, and this is hockey?

I will say this: Pearson had three points tonight. Three points. I don't think anyone else but damacles mentioned that.

3 ****ing points. Someone give that guy some due credit, for Chrissake.

Pearson is and has been ****ing awesome.
OK, maybe a bit of a dip this season.... But he had a long time off, and has been relegated to a **** line for a bit now. Good to get him back with Kopi, though given his(kopi's) production that is not necessarily as good as it sounds.

I have a standing man crush on Pearson, I only skip the mention to avoid being repetitive.

Good god, the hivemind is out in full force tonight. Didn't realize people had such a hard on for McNabb around here.

What's his contract?
How much experience does he have?
How many minutes/what line is he playing on?
Like, 3 big errors this season. Get the Lynch post...

Come on. You're comparing a young and growing NHL defenseman playing bigger, harder minutes with tons of positive metrics with an older defenseman who can barely handle #6 minutes and has all sorts of crap metrics. Even if one doesn't have a hardon for McNabb--I'd argue very few do--comparing him to Ehrhoff is just a slap in the face.

I just disagree with some that he hasn't looked good for a while. I think he's definitely struggled in the last couple of games, but he looked fantastic before that. I'm just too tired to dig up some real numbers as support. It just seems like everyone turned on him the moment he made that stupid ass pass to Hanzal (my god, this guy IS 2013 Muzzin!).

And as someone else mentioned, we don't have another option right now, as Muzzin/Martinez are glued there for the time being.

You're right, its not fair to compare the 2 because Erhoff hasn't been paired with Doughty yet. Only then can we make a fair assessment on whose "better". But for the record, I'd rather see Forbort playing right now instead of Erhoff because he's pretty much done. Unfortunately he's taken too many blows to the head ala M. Richards to keep playing at this level.
