They're playing Jones because Vaak is sick. The Rangers are scouting Chicago, but did Chicago have scouts at the Ranger game last night?

Ahh that’s right I forgot about Vaak being sick. No clue if they were there or not but I’m hoping nyr are looking to add a young c that is cost controlled with a potential to be a 3rd line c. Other than that the pending ufas in Chicago doesn’t leave much to be desired imo.

I don’t see Drury selling at the deadline. Every move he’s made so far has been about trying squeeze more Ws out of this lineup. Last night the final three minutes were played by five forwards ages 31+. It doesn’t seem like he or the coaching staff are looking past this season at all.

Cancel the season. We needed all three pre-4 nations games to stay in the hunt. Why would you invest in the team that could not pull it together to beat the Crosby/Malkin-less Penguins. Is that same team going to beat the Panthers? Do we want the indignity of giving the Maple Leafs their 2nd playoff series win in the last 20 years? I'm not sure how money puck calculates playoff odds but before this game, NYR were at 48.2% and the Penguins were at 1.7% and after the game, the Penguins have more points than us in the standings (2 games in hand). I think someone else did the math. We need to go like 20-7 in our last stretch of games. Bracing myself for an epic fail TDL.
Yep lose badly to the lowly Pens....then they'll surprise everyone and beat Florida handily. Rangers gotta Ranger.

This team is so slow. This team can't win a race. This team can't win a battle. This team can't even play fast because they move the puck 50 feet across the rink. Miller has been trying but we got even slower now from his trade. Is it so hard for this team to find players who can actually skate, with decent edge work?

Jonny is not the answer.

What I would give to have Lindgren shipped to the moon.

Panarin is the modern Bure. Bure never won a Cup. His style of play only works for him. The Canucks needed Linden on those Bure teams to set the culture. Miller can be our Linden but they need to clear out anyone who will not buy in first. I’m looking at Zibanejad and Kreider.

Cozens and buffalos first for Lafreniere and Lindgren.
Doubt they would do Kreider
I can't see Buffalo giving up their first for this. The current difference between Lafreniere and Cozens is smaller than most want to admit. Lafreniere isn't doing anything.

Bure was a monster playoff performer.

Panarin makes Zuccarello look like McDavid in the playoffs.

Package Smith and Lindgren just like the Dallas / SJ trade. Maybe Minnesota, Vegas. 1 and 3.

CK to Colorado / Dallas 2nd pick.

Re-coup 1, 2, 3.

Play Otto, Berard, Jones.

Recall othmann and berard, vesey and Brodzinsky aren't helping, Miller could help Othmann adjust from now til end of year.

It will depend on where we are at the deadline. The way we are trending, we probably won't be in a playoff spot, but if we're only a couple points out, he'll probably let it ride. If we aren't any closer than we are today, I can see him selling.

A lot of GMs are like a lot of politicians. They are more concerned with keeping their jobs than doing their jobs. Making the playoffs helps Drury keep his job. I don't think he's going to trade for rentals, but he is going to do what he can to make the playoffs this year. The trade for Miller is obviously a trade for now and the next few years. He doesn't care about anything after that because he's likely to be fired by then unless he wins a cup.
