We seem to really struggle against other teams in the Pacific. I think it's because they get way more amped to play us than we do for them.

Gaborik, Pearson and Shore spoke with the media after the Los Angeles Kings' 4-3 win over the Edmonton Oilers at Staples Center on November 14.

You can hear the parts of those interviews that didn't make the Fox Sports West post-game show here...

Frozen Royalty Audio: Gaborik, Pearson, Shore After 4-3 Win Over Edmonton

Thanks, Gann. I missed all but the end of the game and missed the post-game show so I enjoyed hearing these. (Including the bouncing cup.)

Okay, let me try and clear this up. The Kings defense is going to be an adventure this year. McNabb gets a pass because he's playing how many minutes at 630k? Sure bring in an upgrade for the position and bump him down.

Great game, held in there and managed the win. Quick still stealing the Oiler's lunch money. Oiler's aren't a great team, but they have some talented players with good shots. With the Kings defense not being as solid as it was in the past other teams are going to get chances.

Pearson/Gabby second game together and it's paying off. When I talk about Gabby needing a different linemate then Brown this is what I'm talking about. Pearson passes the puck, Gabby's involved in with the puck moving his feet in the offensive zone. He's not just standing around trying to figure out what Brown is going to do. Also when Pearson is played with guys like Lewis/Shore, it effects the game they can play.

Lucic, this guy loves the front of the net!

Edit: Forgot Shore's goal!!! Great timing!!!

The only reason we won was Talbot was atrocious. Even on the final goal it was like, Talbot over to Pearson, back to Talbot, out to Shore, back to Talbot!! Oops, he didn't catch this pass!!!

Again, no one is giving McNabb a 'pass,' but his play is getting compared to Ehrhoff's, and that's just awfully wrong. He's been comparable to 2013 Muzzin, and it is what it is. Ideally, he'd be down the lineup a bit, but here's what we have, and he looked great over the wins, people are already forgetting that and waiting to tear SOMEONE apart, so he's an easy target. I have no doubt DL is itching to make a defensive move.

And for all the talk about our crappy D, here we are at 2nd in the league in goals against. Credit our system and forwards all you want, truth is we're pretty spoiled. They can absolutely improve and certainly have things to iron out, but my goodness, I get the feeling some posters need to really watch what's happening elsewhere around the NHL before we complain about OUR defense.

Agreed Pearson and Gaborik are a great fit and could use some time together for chemistry building. That line could be deadly once Kopi gets going (hell, they could GET him going!).

The Kings Defense is one of the best in the league. It's not propped up by ridiculous Goal tending like MTL this season, past season.

The Kings Defense is continually, yearly, since 2010 on the right side of the advanced stats, possession, shots per 60 side of the equation. Also GA per 60 is always been healthy, save maybe a bad pairing or two (A-Mart-Greene last season)

Terry Murray, John Stevens, deserve a lot of credit, for the system the Kings Defense plays.

Some folks need to actually watch a bad defense regularly. Like EDM Oilers, or this years Calgary flames(terrible).

If you can remember the one season Crawford coached the Kings, you can remember a terrible defense.

Weal isn't the answer either I'm afraid. Something needs to change on the bottom 6. Maybe it's all good once king gets back, but the current lines aren't cutting it.

As much as i am enjoying us Kingless i think him coming back will force the situation. Shore will end up in the ahl (Regin gets its number one center back) to play the minutes he needs and get some confidence back. Kings return will also put Lewis as a center and brown on the wing. This is a decent 3rd line that has scoring potential. I also look for a trade coming soon after his return I hope its for a better 3 c then Lewis however it could also be a top 4 defenseman. Its going to be a interest month or two coming for sure. Also see a mersch call up soon

Just who will take the faceoffs then, Lewis? He's 9/33 from the dots, worse than Andreoff, and that says a lot. Shore is the 2nd best faceoff guy behind Kopitar. When King returns it will finally force Sutter to sit his 4th line fav Nolan.

Andreoff is getting better at them I believe 66.7 two games ago and 57.1 in his last game. As i also stated i expect a deal to be done to bring in a better then lewis 3c We have a extra lw maybe 2 if you think Mersch is ready for the nhl which i do. I believe either Pearson Gaborik or KIng will be gone and either a 3 c or a top 4 d will be coming back. Perhaps both in the right deal *yes we add in that deal Imo Nolan is fine where he is on the fourth line.

Remember that Nolan sat most of last season

Absolutely not however he will be down there till we make a deal maybe two. We need to move at least one lw maybe 2 before there is room for him. Hoping King but think gaborik or pearson is possible

N o way they move Pearson. Cheap contract, very high ceiling. King would be the most likely player. I just don't see them getting a top dman with the assets we have without weaken the future. They can't afford another Sekera deal.

We may not have a choice I honestly don't see anyone taking Gaborik to much term on contract. I don't see us getting any value on King after being injured all year believe me when i say i've tried lol Pearson has value being young and prime years still coming. Lets not forget we have Mersch and Kempe coming on the left side not guarantees but definitely capable replacements coming. Whoever we get will have term i think I agree not going to have another Sekera deal
