Lol. 32 pages? Really, 32 pages on an inconclusive goal?

I'm not even going to feign surprise anymore. It involves the Kings, so of course, the other team is getting screwed and the evil empire reigns on. It's not even worth getting involved anymore because it's simply confirmation bias from the same posters in just about every thread, it's not discussion, it's groupthink.

Can only imagine how many pages we'd be up to now if Kopitar had buried Hall in the numbers instead of vice-versa.

Many here think the Kings are the only team getting favorable calls because our fans aren't creating ridiculous threads every time something doesn't go our way. We keep our whining to our GDTs for the most part. BUt it IS a good illustration of how teams feel about reffing for future reference.

Again, I hope that we were just sloppy due to 3 in 4. Gonna need to be tighter vs. the Jets. Should be a great game as usual!

Don't forget PGTs after victories!

Lucic looks fast, yet I know he's really not. He's playing with a speedster with Carter, yet he still looks fast. His efficiency in movement is great, he really takes good lines. Probably explains why his numbers took off once he knew where to go. Toffoli is kind of the same way, not fast but ends up with a lot of breakaways and outnumbered attacks on goal.

A regulation puck is 3 inches in diameter. You can embed a small chip in the center of the puck so that it doesn't affect the motion of the puck. All you want to know is if the center of the puck goes 1.51 inches beyond the goal line, as it would be impossible for the entire puck to not have crossed the line. You don't have to know the orientation, the velocity or anything like that. All this would tell you is that it definitely crossed the line.

For cases like this where the puck is not visible from the officials' or cameras' angles, this is a simple fix.

There are just too many variables that you're not accounting for. You're treating a 3-dimensional problem as a 1-dimensional problem.

We slow down the whole game with proper puck control.

The puck is faster than any one player, efficient passing makes up for our lack of all-out speed, and checking prevents the opposition from just blasting out.

Wait, I mean, interference, hooking, and holding is our specialty and we're the only team doing it. Am I doing this right?

Regardless of all the ********, the Kings got a much needed two points and kept rolling. They aren't all gonna be pretty, but they beat a team they should.

Needs more conspiracy.

been saying this forever. their plan of attack only works if they're passing well, otherwise everything just goes out the window and we just look slow and flat.

**** it, we evil empire now. ALL HEIL LORD VADER.

Doughty's response after the final horn was pretty great.

I was at the game. Boring crowd. Doughty was chirping the fans when the goal was under review. It was priceless, he was confident the call would stand and when it did he grabbed his nuts with his glove while taunting the fans. Pretty funny.

Damn but a video of that would be awesome lol

We need a gif STAT

I hate that he doesn't play for the team that I cheer for!

I actually made this comment when he smacked his stick on the ice and let out a loud "woot" after the final horn went off. I'm a Kings fan but I would absolutely hate Doughty if he were on any other team. As a Kings fan, I love his passion even if he gets a little whiny at times.

Re: No goal

I haven't looked at the main board yet and I will but the issue isn't the refs or the guys in Toronto. The issue is with the rule and the right call was made. The ref signaled no goal on the play indicating he never saw the puck cross the line. The guys in Toronto simply backed it up because there was no conclusive view. Do I think the puck went in? Probably. But if you can't be 100% sure, the ruling on the ice has to stand. I'd be upset if this happened to the Kings but I still think the right call was made unless there was some conclusive video that I didn't see.

Oh and love the thread title btw!

People were even complaining about that.

"Acting like he just won the Cup!"

He would know. #tworings

Pfffttttt of course they're upset by that, but that's just Doughty's on ice nature, he gets super animated at times.

LOL that was great. It's hilarious that they're just trying to find any way to get on Doughty for that. Yeah, Drew. Win something before celebrating like that. Kid never has accomplished anything /s. The best part is they'll be worshipping the ground he walks on when he dons the Team Canada colors in the next Olympics.

That doesn't make it impossible. Not even that hard. Are there any decent engineers on this board? Put three detectors in the ice under the goal that can determine the distance between the detector and the center of the puck. Triangulate the location of the puck in space and compare it to the goal plane. Geometry.

All I'm saying is that it's a solvable problem. I'm not an engineer, but I'm sure there are decent engineers that could solve this problem without that much effort. It's 2015. We landed men on the moon 45 years ago. This should be totally doable.
