Or not, but you know. Big bad dirty Kings, poor Leafs were just trying to play hockey.

What a joke! This must be the "SPEAR" all leafs fans are freakin crying about on the main board. I'm assuming this has already been posted on that stupid thread.

I didnt know Leafs fans could be so soft. you'd think the decade of suck they've endured would toughen them up a little bit, eh?

See the video:

Doughty being hit before he goes ape***
You can clearly see him holding the leafs player's stick with his back/neck muscles and pulling the defensive leafs player down on top of him

I think your video cuts off too early. Unless I'm not remembering it correctly he hit him a few more times after what you show there where Doughty's face is driven into the ice with crosschecks.

That's the spear everyone was complaining about? I've heard some whoppers on this forum, but this one is right up there.

Kadri is a notorious embellisher; many Leafs fans acknowledge this. But hey, if Kadri doesn't get fined for spearing or diving after last night, that counts as a sort of win, no? ;)

Solid game. Vinny had his shifts kept short and his TOI carefully managed, under 10 minutes. I think that's necessary. Not a #3C, and his speed/durability in the West are open questions, but hopefully it's manageable. The Kings are such a strong team overall.

I think Vinny will continue being effective because of the support--he was very effusive in his praise of the Kings on being right where you expect them and talked about how puck support is always there. He doesn't have to 'carry the mail' so to speak. Same with Schenn--when you can count on your teammates to do what's expected, you can simplify your game, too.

Reminds me of what Babcock said about "good teams don't trick you, good teams just beat you." There's not a lot of deception in what we do, but when we execute, we're unstoppable; Vinny said something like it only took 10 minutes to learn how we play...sounds like chess.

Every year Mike Babcock looks more and more like one of those apple face dolls you'd carve as a kid.

...I'm hoping SOMEONE else remembers doing those. At first. They'd look nice and neat but as you left them out to age they got more and more brown and more and more sallow, and angry looking.

Oh, the looks on his face when they his team is losing is just priceless. He was the Ducks coach for years after all so I never have liked the man.

Say what you want about Sutter but I have NOT seen anyone anywhere handle the media better.

One last thing: You know what they say about arguing with idiots - it only brings you down to their level. So I made my one post about the nice loss, missing the playoffs again (I did forget a Cup since Lyndon Johnson was in office part though) and the ridiculous spear and I'm done.

Any evidence of Leaf wrongdoing will be cropped from any vids or gifs posted. It does not fit the victim agenda

hasn't kadri been fined once before for diving?

It's OK if he does it cause he's just drawing a penalty, but if brown does it, it disgraces the league.

Toronto is a damn joke. I hope they suck for a very long time and finish 9th every year.

Kings play chess while everyone else is playing checkers?

Brown's never been fined has he?
I believe PPK has been too...so stars do it to

In fairness Carter's stick does ride up pretty high.
I'm sure we've all been hit there to some degree.
BUT the amount of anguish Kadri had looked like he took a knee to the groin, I think anyone would have been in the ice for longer. And the way he got up...Yeah that was nothing, he was doing a lunge to get up:huh:, no one does that after taking a hit THERE

Yep, there was no way they were going to perform worse here than in Philly. When you have a garbage system that's got weak/no structure, there's a lot of dependence on the individual to create an escape route for himself or attack the defense on his own. A player looks and performs a lot better knowing that if he puts the puck in a particular area, one of his teammates will be there to retrieve it or be available as an outlet. The Kings don't cheat up ice. Remember Dan Girardi turning it over in SCF Game 1 and the puck was past Lundqvist's statue 2 seconds later for the game winner? Nobody came back to support Girardi. Schenn is playing on our third pairing and with forwards who won't leave him out to dry with the puck.

You guys need to understand. We watch dirty hockey all the time so we are used to it, we think it's the norm. That's why we are confused when teams call us dirty.

And dirty is a bad thing. Well, unless you are taking about the old days. In that case, the dirty play is glorified and the stuff of legend. Teams were tough and nasty back then - so much so they make the Kings look like saints - and it was the best thing ever. Not now, though.

I'm surprised that the Kings haven't set the suspension record yet.
