There was plenty of substance to Waddel's comments. He didn't mince words. There is an issue in the CBJ lockerroom. It likely includes Laine.
If he had, minimum Portzline would know it. But nobody sorted he is a cancer or something similar.
But there were problems in our locker room still under the 2nd Larsen season and some were about Vincent too. This was the reason why Vincent was fired. Yes, GM, a coach are new but he probably does not want to risk.

Btw he has good relationship with Gaudreau, Werenski and Kuraly minimum. Werenski and Kuraly are "A", Zach very likes John Tortorella and his culture. No one of Larsen, Vincent and even Tortorella said he is lazy, on the contrary, they said Patrik trains hard.

Unlikely. Not with the current things he’s gone through and being essentially a one dimensional player. He would likely end up like Gavrikov
Yup. Pulling for Laine to come back to what he once was. Likely though his next contract will be a lot less than his current deal.

I'm pretty sure there would be teams willing to take Laine for free. Columbus actually wants some assets.
Assuming all of his salary? I thought that was the main issue in that there are very few teams who can fit him if the Blue Jackets don't retain and don't take any salary back.

So you see why terminating his current contract is a bad idea financially. And he would not recoup that on a new one
I think Waddell will need to decide whether to clean the cancer or allow it back in the room. To me, he needs to get rid of Laine any which way possible. And for Laine, it depends how deep the troubles are. The fact he was in the PA program is telling. I can see mutual termination if a deal can't get done.

As Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman points out, Laine is still recovering from clavicle/shoulder surgery that ended his 2023-24 season back in December. The Finnish winger entered the Player Assistance Program about five weeks after sustaining the injury.

The fact he was in the PA isn’t telling. We have no definitive reason why he was in it

We can put 1 and 1 together. It doesn't take a rocket surgeon...

No we can’t. Injury recover can lead to numerous issues.

Mental health issues through the recovery process
Depression through the recovery process
Addiction either self admitted or through interventions.

I do but not at liberty to share. Its called common sense and intuition.
So you have no information

The isame type of nfo you have actually believing McDavid signs off on everything Edmonton. That's just idiotic.
Sure, it’s just a coincidence that management keeps hiring people he’s associated with. You’d be naive to think they don’t consult the player that single-handedly doubled your franchises value.

Any information on Laine is just pure speculation and potential slander

Sure its a coincidence that Laine has wanted out of every team he has been a part of that includes rumors of locker room issues. You would be naive to think that Laine is not part of the problem!!!

Any conspiracy theories on McDavid signing off on player transactions is pure speculation and potential slander. You probably believe the moon landing was fake too! ;)

In the case of CBJ, it fact since Waddell said it!

In the case of McDavid signing off on player transactions.... that's just fantasy. Lunacy!
And this is what came out from him wanting out of Winnipeg

Kypreos goes on to ask if the Winnipeg Jets would take Laine back. "He's shown great success there in the past, he was happy." Kypreos says. Rumors of why Laine wanted out of Winnipeg were because of bullying from Blake Wheeler and Mark Scheifele. Rumors were that Laine's young and upcoming status threatened him, and his right-wing position. Wheeler was the top right-wing on the team and apparently didn't like the fact that Laine scoring and gaining popularity.

And Columbus:

So you believe Laine was bullied in Wpg and then bullied in CBJ. And none of this involves character issues on his part?

Talk about naivety!!! lol

Maybe check with McDavid as he probably signs off on everyone's checks in the NHL, being the poster boy and all! ;)

About as plausible as saying he’s been the locker room issue on both teams. For all we know Laine is pretty thin skinned and doesn’t take bullying well.

Where did you hear he was bullied in CBJ?

And if a person gets bullied, you think there's something wrong with them? Obviously that makes you a bully.
