I wonder what E. Kane would cost. Has to be less than Landeskog.

Martinez + King?

Yuck. The only way I'd consider Kane is if Brown goes the other way but I'm not sure how the players would react. Trading a former captain and good guy for a cancer like Kane might not sit too well.

Well, considering his salary, less than that if no retention. Probably not worthwhile for Buffalo thinking about the offers they would get.

Forbort + Clifford plus a lower pick maybe. King if they want an expiring contract. Not sure if its worth the risk.

I'm worried hes looking at e kane got some talent but expensive and headcase off ice

I dont think you have anything to worry about. there is no way in hell Deano would trade for someone with as many character issues as E Kane after whats happened to the Kings over the last few seasons

Since 12' hockey has become fun for me again. I get to be a fan and you can never take away or replace those memories and sharing them with the people you love.

Amen.

Does this current team have issues, absolutely. But for me, they're playing with house money from the '12 and '14 Cups. I have low expectations and hockey is (mostly) fun since the 'goal' has been hit twice. It's why I can't understand how some people can be so miserable when we're obviously paying the price of success, we knew these days were coming, and to me simply being in the playoff race (especially despite the comedy of errors these seasons have been with injuries and off-ice stuff) is a lot more than I expected at this point.

I'm not incredibly keen on trading Landeskog, but is Pearson and Muzzin a reasonable package to expect?

I think it's overpayment but I've also noticed many Avs fans underrating Pearson mildly and Muzzin massively. The bigger problem aside from the value is that we'd be opening up another hole again. We'd be trading for Landeskog to boost offensive top end AND depth and losing Pearson wrecks the bottom end of that.

I put King because King + Martinez basically = Kane's cap hit.

I would think that Martinez would be one of the top offers they would get. Top 4 d are hard to come by.

The way Lombardi has been trading prospects and picks, I would rather him sit tight and try and deal some guys OFF the roster first.

The way he has been dealing the last couple of years has been for players who are rentals (Sekera) or have one year left on deal (Lucic). The players being discussed here have term.

I dunno. I remember the talk before the season about restocking the cupboards. I really don't see DL losing picks and prospects this year unless it's for a guy with term. That and the sudden logjam of LHD stay at homers with the lack off offense are the only reason (on our side anyway) a deal for Landeskog makes sense.

Landeskog is a permanent solution to the same LW problem we've talked about since the Kovalchuk free agent saga.

Idk. If you land Landeskog, you have Landeskog-Kopitar and Carter-Toffoli anchoring your top six. That's pretty appealing.

What in the world? There is no way we are moving a top 4 defenseman (and on top of that another left winger that is perfect for the 3rd and 4th lines) for washed up E. Kane. The only way we move Muzzin or Martinez is if it is for a legit top 6 forward, like the Larsson for Taylor Hall trade. Also, considering Buffalo's circumstances, I am sure we can get E. Kane in a trade for a draft pick instead of moving a top 4 defenseman.

And presumably, you have that for at least 4 more years. A lot can happen, good or bad, in 4 years.

Kane washed up? He's currently scoring on a 29 goal pace despite some slow periods due to recovering from an injury. He is a 30 goal guy. I know it seems like he has been around forever but he is only 25..yes 25.

King becomes expendable because the LW become Kane/Pearson/Gaborik/Brown/Clifford obviously one of those would play the right side. Plus would then mean LA does not take on additional Salary.

I get people may not like or want Kane, and I also get that people may think he is not worth A-Mart, but he is for sure a legit top 6 forward.

It will be interesting to see if Buffalo does move him what the return is. If you think all it is a draft pick I imagine it will be more than just a 2nd rounder (so a late first or 2nds)

And the present reality is you'd be trading a #3 Dman for a #1 LW. Easier to find another #3 DMan than a #1 LW.

I think it depends on the price and how despite he is to get some scoring He may roll the dice Other then him who in that game would he be looking at thou

I just dont see it happening. dont really see the Landeskog trade working either but what do I know? Id rather Dean stand pat and see where everything falls after the expansion draft

I don't want to see lewis on kopitars wing the rest of the season so im hoping he does something to fix that Now that something could be as easy as someone from the ahl to a major trade with whoever

Avalanche continue to track Kings/Stars. Sr Pro Scout at Ontario Reign v Texas Stars game this evening.

I hope it's Kempe and not Amadio. LoL, I hope it's all our crap prospects that DL exchanges for Landeskog! :naughty:

agreed but there are plenty of other options that would require less than the price of one Gabriel Landeskog
