Exactly. It’s in their best interest to lose and put themselves into the best position possible for the draft lottery. Draft position can decide whether you draft a Pettersson or a Lias “Malhotra”

OUCH. But we can't disagree that he is venturing on bust territory (you gotta swing on someone with a higher upside at 7 overall.)

I could watch Kreider congratulate his teammates all day. Such a nice man.

He may work out in the long run, but I haven’t noticed any signs in his game that he can be an impact player.

Yeah I agree...I think Henrik needs to play less as we go down the stretch....he's been hit or miss for a while now.
Regardless whether he is hit or miss......does absolutely NOTHING for the franchise moving forward by wearing him out. Not gonna make PO's, and shouldnt even be a question, need to find out more about Georgiev and what he can handle. All this does is add some wins to his career totals.

You do know how stupid you sound with the "you dont understand hockey" "you are lost"thing right? That doesn't explain how what i said is wrong.

Now try again, with respect if you are able, or go back to your gutter.

Well I'm not the one who advocated for Brady to "take away one person on a two on one." If the comment you made, had any validity at all I'd certainly have entertained a more meaningful discussion.

I can't stand when people come on this site and blindly criticize players who will forget more about hockey then they will ever know on in game decisions and then use their spreading of fallacy for further proof that their misinformed position is somehow correct. Sorry you were offended but I can't control your reaction-- you certainly can control the mistruths you spread into the forum!

We need them to suck. Look it’s feb 5th and they’ve been very fun to watch competitive it’s way more than we expected. But now it’s time to go full tank mode. We could be in the bottom 3 or 4 very quickly. 2 months of hockey left I have no problem losing at this point while watching some of the kids play.
Couldn't have said it better. All i asked for was competitive hockey......they have given us that. Last night kind of hurt because it was the KINGS, but they are below us, so you never know......still don't want an 8 game losing streak, but losing 4 out of every 5 from here on out.....wouldn't be a bad thing. PROVIDING our kids play well despite the losing once their gone. There will be some infusion of new players, rest assured.

I’m amazed people like namestnikov he is pure garbage and at 4 million dollars?! Horrific

The other guy floating by is Jesper Fast. He’s been awful. He’s been undisciplined and his going to be 28 next year. He should be a goner.

For me these two along with Buchnevich and Vesey need to be gone. Obviously Hayes and Zucc but these 4 guys are not going to help us get better. They’re bad players. The quicker they’re gone the better long term.

I like Strome Nieves and Howden. I think they all should be added to kreider Zibanejad and Chytil moving forward. Kravstov of course, our top pick this year, and hopefully Panarin and you’ve got 9 of your forwards imo.

I totally agree with most of what you said here. I don't get how people can conclude that any of the guys you mentioned above, Buch, Vesey, Namestnikov, have done anything to set themselves apart in a positive way. I'd look to get rid of them ASAP!

The only player I don't totally agree with is Fast. He's not been great this season even in his role, but I do think he's shown enough in prior years to say that he has heart and grit. I think those are important traits in a player for the youth to see as valued by the organization. Trading him now sends the opposite message. He's never going to be a 25 goal scorer, in fact I'd be happy with him scoring 10, but he is an important piece to the puzzle.

You're suggesting a player takes neither the pass nor either of the players and I'M the moron?

You continuing with your stupid nonsense still doesn't explain how* what I said is wrong.

Thank you for wasting my time. Sorry you didn't make yourself sound intelligent through simple personal attacks lol

Namestnikov-Howden-Strome has the potential to be a very passable third line, and not very much fun to play against.
Maybe, but I would want Strome in the middle. Until Howden fully develops. Someone else might want Names at center.
Do realize that line comprised of 3 centers, right? :teach:

So if Brady would have gone and attacked the puck, what would the attacking player do??? Umm pass to the guy wide open on the other side forcing the goalie to slide across, now the goalie has to square up to the shot while moving across. Now the guy who gets has the puck is left wide open( because Brady has gone an attacked the guy who is now without the puck-- to either one time the puck, shoot quickly, stick handle around the goalie or deek and then slide the puck past the goalie. The goalie is now left with all these options to contend with in this situation because Brady has taken himself completely out of the play and is defending a guy who is no longer in the play. Furthermore, the goalie had to slide across the net with the pass, thus making him off balance and more vulnerable to any of the options above.

The defender who stays in the middle allows the attacking player to shoot thus creating only one of the options above to be confronted by the goalie who is, if executing correctly, is already square to the puck. Since the defender remains in the center he is essentially defending both players because neither attacking player knows what the defender is going to do and therefore is left with making a risky pass through the defender or shooting the puck on the net. A deek is not an option as the defender is still, again if executing correctly, positioning his stick in a way as to still make possible stick on puck contact which may create a turnover or a separation of the puck from the attackers stick.

@JHS Thank you. Now, the reason I said what I said is a breakaway is a hell of a lot easier to deal with than a 2 on 1. When Toffoli crossed the blueline Skjei laid off instead of taking him out right away and began letting both guys to the net. If he did go to take Toffoli out at that point, he would have either been knocked off the puck or squeaked a pass thru Brady(if it didnt hit Brady) to Kempe from the blue line (giving Hnak plenty of time to get set to deal with the one on one IF the pass even got across.

Instead he lays up and begins his coverage of the passing lane that he just opened up himself.

Maybe it's me, in my 25 years of inexperience playing in net, I'd much much much rather deal with a breakaway from the blue line than anyone walking in from the angle with a strong remaining(and very distracting-from-the-puck) possibility of a pass. Also keep in mind Kempe wouldve had to settle the pass and then figure out where hes going with it.

Now, if you find this wrong, please resist temptation to revert to the stupid nonsense stuff and tell me why what I said is wrong.

@Larrybiv spot on? Lol

Thats why I want him to be our next C. Would take Zbad if not Kreids, but he deserves it more, he has been and become (though hard work) the player we wanted him to become. He has worked at his trade, and not afraid to do the dirty work.

@JHS ALMOST THERE! Now if you just simply edit/delete that last part of stupid nonsense that you just couldn't help yourself but to provide, I'll have enough respect for you to edit this to an appropriate response.

Done- Glad we are on the same page now. Looking back at the video, Brady literally does everything correctly including dropping his stick to the ice when it looks like the Kings player is about to shoot or pass. He honestly could not have done anything better to defend that two on one. The unfortunate thing is, Hank could not stop the puck.

I would have NO PROBLEM with any of these players (Fast, Names, Vesey) being on the 4th line and occasionally playing on the 3rd.......but NOT for 4 million a year!

Buchnevich.......becoming an enigma, but we CANNOT afford to give up on him. He just doesnt completely "get it" yet. Somewhat like ADA and what he is going through. A maturity issue of sorts.
Buch would be EXACTLY the kind of player that we rid, and becomes a solid player in years to come. Anisimov comes to mind.

Good point- but I think the Rangers should try and build 2nd line down not 4th line up. Maybe these guys can be traded for assets that get the rangers closer to a second line talent. I look at 4th line guys as being easily obtained. Second line, not so much!

No doubt bud.....u KNOW I love Hank, he will get his and end up somewhere like 4th all time. Just doesnt do that much good for the team right now. Getting more out of Georgy boy, is what we should be doing, better for his experience, win or lose. I am NOT banking on Shesty, and losing helps the cause, like it or not. Losing KILLS Hank, don't want him to die.

You are "spot on", but didn't have to explain yourself. Chgoalie27 played lots of hockey and knows better. Not sure what he was thinking, maybe he had a few? Lol. I don't always convey what i know correctly. Okay sorry, shouldnt be in the middle of this.

Yeah man, not trying to "build" from 4th line up......just stating that if indeed these players were our "actual" 4th line, then we would probably have quite the team lines 1-4.
