I wanted Byram. Was split in Turcotte and Zegras! I did want Stutzle over Byefield. I’m still hitting a higher average than what we did. Lol
Knowing LAK development practices.. Byram wouldve been deployed in the A and concussed to the point where Blake moves him for a 5th.

In that recent interview Yannetti basically said its a 5-7 year development plan to fully make the team as an impact player. I think they are going by data but Im not sure.
This was a really good interview and I'd definitely recommend. Kings of the Podcast, I think their most recent episode.

Yannetti talks Byfield and a number of other prospects. In reference to Byfield, he says what I and some others have been saying.... If we're saying the same things about Byfield this time next year or the following year, then it's concerning. But right now, they still believe he's on track and ready to take a big step forward next year.

Also talked about how some of the injuries have been really unlucky for Byfield and how, without those injuries, we're probably looking at him in a much different light.

He also hints at how ridiculously good Clarke is / how high the organization is on Clarke.

cbj fan coming in peace. given our timeline and need at center (even assuming we take one at 3OA) i think byfield would be a perfect piece for us.

would byfield for our 2024 first make sense for the kings? we're not expected to be a playoff team. could be a nice pick.

I like Yannetti. He doesnt beat around the bush and directly answers what many fans are asking about. I wonder if he personally agrees with the organizational philosophy or he thinks a guy like Clarke should have been in the NHL already.

Byfield is a perfect piece for Kings as well.

Would you like to trade Kent Johnson to our 1st round pick in 2024?

I think there’s a chunk of Kings fans that would take that deal because they’re really down on Byfield. I’m not one of them though. I’m in the camp that wants to see where Byfield is by the age of 23 before making any decisions on him.

eh, not a super straightforward comparison since johnson is already our best non-gaudreau forward and the kings are very likely to be a playoff team next year, whereas the jackets are expected to be near the bottom once again.

totally fair – we have a lot of fans who are similarly down on sillinger after his sophomore slump (on a really bad team with really bad linemates, no less).

Can you please check your thoughts from LA point of view?

Kings are very likely to be a playoff team next year.

They will trade their number one center prospect who need year or two to break out for unknown draft pick in next year draft.

Are you sure it is really good move by Kings?

Uhm.. we are no playoff team either and have to run out the contracts of the oldies.
Byfield is still 3-4 years away from impaact but this is exactly what we need to keep the salary low.

Sorry, he is going nowhere

Wouldn't mind Wilson but just saw he has 1 year left on his contract. Wouldn't give up much for him and also doubt I'd give him 5x$30M or whatever he wants.

Kings really need QB to hold down the the 3C spot this year. Lack of a quality 3C has been killing us the last two years.

There's a lot of interesting center options on the UFA market.

One guy I kind of like is Bjugstad. He plays center and wing. Start him out as 4th Line RW. Give us some extra size on that line. If QB isn't working out as 3C, you can shift Bjugstad there. He's not exactly mean/tough, but he's not soft either.

Moore-Kopitar-Kempe
Fiala-Danault-Kaliyev (assuming RV is traded)
Iafallo-Byfield-Vilardi
Grund/JAD-Lizotte-Bjugstad
Kupari, Fagemo

I love Kopitar. He’s been nothing but a pro his whole career and arguably the greatest King ever. That said, I hope he does retire after next season.
always hard to see the hero decline, but i think he could contribute for another season or two. not at 25min/night but in depth he could probably make a lot of NHL 2nd/3rd lines look bad

My comment is more to do with the team and management needing to move on from the cup group. Every decision is made to make them happy and it’s keeping the Kings in pretender status.
