Kempe shouldn’t be the guy he’s trying to bump off PP1. I’d want to see him successful as the PP2 trigger guy first which hasn’t really happened consistently. I’d really want to see the two PP units get more equal ice time and with Clarke likely on PP2, maybe with PLD also, the second unit should in theory be very dangerous. We actually have the personnel for two decent PP lines, they just need using properly.
Yeah I wouldn't move Arty off PP2. One of the reasons his goal production is so high there is he's facing 2nd PK units, which is perfect. The difference when he's against a first unit is very visible.

He would end up with more PP points by moving him up, but it would be a net loss for the team as a whole. Just let him keep doing what he's doing as far as the PP goes, no need to change something that's working.

Hope all three of those happen. If the 3rd one does the team will be good.

It still doesn’t negate the fact that the Kings made a very shortsighted move, which opposing GMs often took advantage of. Buffalo, Boston and Montreal must’ve been in possession of photos of George Maguire in a compromising position.
Backing this up is this: in the interview Borque alluded to GM Harry Sinden being pleased he got a #1 from the Kings in exchange for his 3rd string goalie.

Totally agree.

The Kings should be able to ice two really impressive powerplay units which should be a huge help especially in terms of powerplay consistency.

We saw it happen last year - There were stretches of games where the 1st unit got a little cold and the 2nd unit was pretty hot, and vice versa.

With a (likely) first unit of: Dubois, Fiala, Kopitar, Kempe, and Doughty

And a (likely) second unit of: Byfield, Danault, Arvidsson, Kaliyev, Clarke/Spence

That gives them a lotttttt of options on both units. Easily one of the things I'm most excited about heading into next season.

let's be real, PP2 is gonna be moore, danault, lewis, and the next more experienced forward and defenseman

i'm too lazy to even write the half-joke anymore because it keeps coming true and it's more effort than TM puts into lineup decisions
Objectively I agree with you, but I do not want to be in depressing mood all summer long.

I know, I'm sorry. A little.

I hate it too but every time I get a little optimistic at 'wow look at all these options, it would surely be hard to f*** this up' I get a vision of McLellan just f***ing short circuiting and picking the objectively worst possible arrangement and gameplan for every situation.

I know, I just want McLellan f***ing out of this team ASAP.
Hopefully it is going to happen on one beautiful day.

Reminds me of the managers at my work. We have the perfect resource to use for this specific task but let's use this outdated thing to try and get it done.

Marimow gutted that unit from the inside.

I’d swap Dubois with QB to even out it a little. It’d create bigger matchup issues for the opponents also.

If it keeps coming true, then make good joke lineups and see if trends continue. The fate of the team depends on you. We need you, RJ. You're our only hope.

Sounds like some summer time sadness. Good news is that the team is so stacked that not even Todd will be able to create a "bad" lineup.

You're all welcome to join me on my trip down denial. It can get quite warm so be sure & help yourself to the Kool Aid.

What about Arizona Ice tea?

There's a Pit/Bos trade suggestion on the trade boards. Carter for Forbort if anyone is bored.

Pretty sure Carter would be Bos best center.

Carter looked pretty toasted last year.

Looks like they plan on having him as 4C this year. I'll be curious to see how he does in that role.
