Welp. I'm convinced this is the end of Rob Blakes moves this Summer.
D- grade.
D- grade.
Hurting the depth unfortunately. A trade that makes a hole to fill another.Gibson for Moore, Ducks retain & make salaries match?
Who's down!
Those of you who raised a hand, raise the other if you've been celebrating!!!!
We'll see at the end of the upcoming season if you're right.Welp. I'm convinced this is the end of Rob Blakes moves this Summer.

I don't think it'll take that long.Hurting the depth unfortunately. A trade that makes a hole to fill another.

He doesn’t cut it as a center of any kind come playoff time where the physicality gets turned up more notches than he’s able to handle. We still need size, I wouldn’t be surprised if we make a trade with Arizona for Bjugstad or a dream come true would be adding a Adam Lowry type of C.. I was hoping Helenius could be that but he’s a few seasons away as a best caseLizotte is well liked by the coaching staff. I doubt he gets moved.
He had a terrible playoffs, but was playing through back spasms. He's shown that he can be a good 4C.
Kings will likely make paper transactions with their waiver exempt players to get cap compliant. They'll have a 21 man roster for some home games I'm guessing.
I know Johnny wants a big physical winger, and so do I, but I just don't think it's going to happen. If it does it will likely be around the TDL.
Should have moved Arvidsson IMO.
sure and then the Danault line sucks f***en ass! The duo that make that line happen is TM & PD, need proof of that then just rewatch the games Moore missed to see just how important he isGibson for Moore, Ducks retain & make salaries match?

Would be nice to saddle the ducks with Moore's contract. I think he is very replaceable for less.Hurting the depth unfortunately. A trade that makes a hole to fill another.
I expect LA to be top 3 in the division, but not sure if they have made enough strides to be more than a middle of the pack team. Goaltending is my major concern.Less than 100 days to season opener! Hope springs eternal, except here. Reading the posts here, I expect the Kings to be a lottery team. I just don’t see it. It might take a little time for the defense to gel, with Clarke and Spence working their way into the rotation. Unless we’re hit with some significant injuries, the forwards should be fine. i doubt that Copley will replicate last season, but considering how bad Cal & JQ were in the first third of the season and we still made the playoffs, he doesn’t need to. Talbot played on a bad Ottawa team and was 17-14-2. Not Vezina level, but not too bad. I expect him to improve on that win pct with LA.
So, enjoy the ride guys. It could get bumpy, but I feel we’ll be fine.
I liked the Idea of Bjugstad as a UFA. He's a right shot, and also plays RW. Give us some flexibility since he can play center. If Lizotte's size is an issue (I doubt it is), like you guys think, Kopitar/PLD/Danault/Bjugstad down the middle would be a HEAVY center group. He doesn’t cut it as a center of any kind come playoff time where the physicality gets turned up more notches than he’s able to handle. Looking at the divsion I think Vegas will take a step back as far as regular season success, Edmonton will still be a powerhouse. Calgary is TBD, I think Seattle takes a step back but is a playoff team, Vancouver, Anaheim and San Jose are all outside.
Me personally, I’d be ok moving Arvy to get bigger on the fourth line but that’ll likely happen at the TDL.I liked the Idea of Bjugstad as a UFA. He's a right shot, and also plays RW. But again, probably would have had to move Arvidisson to make it happen. Which I would have been in favor of.
Considering he just signed in AZ, I doubt they're looking to move him.
Calgary need to rebuild and they’ll probably be worse next season as they probably move their guys at the TDLVan owns us and a healthy demko is worth points, plus they've added to their back end with Soucy and Cole
Edmonton
VGK top two seeds
LAK
Seattle
Vancouver
Calgary 4 teams fighting for last spot and wild card, 3 spots
Anaheim
San Jose
It's not THAT far fetched a world in which the Kings blackhole. Calgary calls up Wolf and he goes nuclear, Demko is back to normal as is EP/Miller, etc.
My concern is that coaching/management loves Lewis so much that they won't bench him, or look to upgrade, even if Lewis isn't playing well.Me personally, I’d be ok moving Arvy to get bigger on the fourth line but that’ll likely happen at the TDL.
I think our biggest worry even over the 4th line is whether or not Copley continues with this play. I don’t think he will and Talbot will need to be played much more than anticipated
Talbot was actively losing us games and nearly lost us games where we had to bail him out later on.Less than 100 days to season opener! Hope springs eternal, except here. Lewis will be our new Edler. My concern is that coaching/management loves Lewis so much that they won't bench him, or look to upgrade, even if Lewis isn't playing well.
I'm actually not concerned about Copely. His SV% was right in line with his career average. (That said, we could still use an upgrade in goal).
I think both 4th line wings are still a concern. Can Grundstrom finally show some level of consistency? Trevor Lewis turns 37 this season. How much defensive prowess does his still have? Because that's the only attribute he brings. He's not big or gritty. Brings nothing offensively. Can't win a FO.
Lewis is levels better than Edler even at this stage in his career. The guy will provide exactly what we need in defense, cycling, forecheck and PK. So what exactly then makes him our new Edler? I keep hearing that but no one is providing any f***en proof?? Anyone??Lewis will be our new Edler.
Quick & Cap were around a 4 GAA for a good portion of the season. We're not expecting much from Talbot.Talbot was actively losing us games and nearly lost us games where we had to bail him out later on.
When Edler was signed people mentioned the things he supposedly did well too. His first year he did many things well, his 2nd year he was sub-replacement level.Lewis is levels better than Edler even at this stage in his career. Right but let’s not forget Edler broke his ankle/leg, I can’t remember and wasn’t the same.. they rushed him for the playoffs and obviously that didn’t help and we were fielding a bunch of kids. Our forward corps is in better shape minus the cap crunchWhen Edler was signed people mentioned the things he supposedly did well too. I’m kind of indifferent to the Lewis signing, but anytime you sign a 36-37 year old player there is major risk that they are no longer an NHL player, and there can be big changes year to year for old players. We will see come camp.
Todd believes toughness is a team thing.. but you’re right, we need someone to hulk smash every now and thenKings need to sign a tougher 4th line player to a PTO.
Yeah like Cami Granato!Kings need to sign a tougher 4th line player to a PTO.
