With the trade of Vilardi and Kupari the Kings lose 2 Right-Shooters on a team that had precious few to begin with...too bad the Kings couldn't have sent Moore,Lizotte,Yafallo, and Byfield instead! Not sure whether Quinton becomes a top 6 Centre, hell we know he's not a top 6 Forward not at this stage anyways
They traded Iafallo as well..

Yup, exactly what I hate about it. And they don't even do a great job of blocking cross ice passing lanes despite the fact they hang back so much
Yea thats why I didnt like Blake saying Lizotte will be needed on the pk. He was exposed in the playoffs on the penalty kill vs Edmonton because he has no reach to get in lanes.

Looking over CapFriendly, the cap ceiling is projected to go up by $4M, which brings the Kings' cap space up to a little over $30M in 2024, which is looking like a loaded UFA class.

I think we all anticipated the team to only be looking at spare parts even before the trade for Dubois in order to shore up the bottom six, so not sure how anyone is surprised by the events of today. It's the following year where they'll likely make a bigger splash in securing a goaltender, and who knows what else.
The problem is that Doughty and Kopi will both be a year older and very likely still be 2 of (if not the top two) most relied upon players on the team. Wait for next year is a half measure when you are going all in to with a cup on the backs of 35 and 33 year olds

Kings will sign a tough guy on a two way.

The Kings are 1.5 over the cap on Capfriendly, which is basically two players - one is Rittich and one likely one of Spence/Clarke - Capfriendly is counting all of them toward the salary cap.

Also, I wouldn't be surprised if at some point the Kings and sneak JAD thru waivers.

Don't think Fagemo or Bjornfot would clear waivers.

I think JAD is on a two way deal so he can go down. Rittich and one of Spence/Clark goes down. As it stands now they can only have a 21 man roster with one extra forward being Fagemo.
So at the moment Bjornfot and Englund compete for the bottom pair left d and one will be on waivers.

It'll be Wayne Simmonds.

Funny thing is that if they played the PK the way a PK needs to be played, he'd be right

Simmonds would perfect mentor for Byfield, Thomas and Lee.

Kings have leverage on my teams since Ontario is only an hour out of LA, they practice in El Segundo and all the players live in the South Bay. So you are basically living like a Kings player except you play games in Ontario.

I just don't think Doughty will let Simmonds have to retire because no team wants him. He'll hit up Blake forsure.

If JAD gets exposed to waivers,Seattle will pick him up or Trade a future considerations to the Kings...Bjornfot and Fagemo wouldn't pass waivers like you said
