I wonder if Jeremy Swayman can be had considering the Bruins need young, cheap players .. maybe Bjornfot, Fagemo and Copley? I can only dream they’d be that needy

So are these the lines we are looking at next year?

Byfield/Kopi/Kempe
Fiala/PLD/???
Moore/Danault/Arvidsson
Lizotte/Lewis/Grundstrom

Still have Kaliyev and several others in the mix. Will be curious to see who goes where.

Maybe they just roll with 21. Spence/Clarke are waiver exempt. one could be in Ontario and ready for call up should the need arise.

Well, the Kings entered last year with over 10 mill in cap space committed to some of the worst goaltending we’ve seen in well over a decade. They are certainly taking the opposite approach this time.

This is what happens when you over pay guys. Doughty, and Kopitar's contracts stink. Doughty and Pietrangelo are similar, he's making 8.8 mill. I don't know if Drew has a no trade clause. But If they could get a talented young defensemen for Drew, they should trade him now before he gets to old to trade.

Assuming Copely and Talbot play competently, I think that lineup will win a lot of games.

I'm fully expecting we get the "good" version of PLuc, which will make it difficult for opponents to matchup with us.

They'll find ways to accrue cap space over the course of the year, and address goaltending or other needs near the TDL if need be.

Every team should have at least two "pugilists" on them.

Realistically Andreas Englund will get into.. 35? 40? games next season. That's half the season having to rely on Adrian Kempe/Philip Danault to drop the gloves when something goes south.

This team played a lot bigger when we iced both Lemieux and MacDermid.

Bigger, maybe, but not nearly big enough.

Toughness comes throughout the roster, not from 2-3 meatheads, and it isn’t hardly ever about punching faces.

This roster is constructed to be the polar opposite of “team tough”, and it’s going to be a frustrating cycle to watch the team make the playoffs only to be bounced when things get rough.

Without Lemieux the Kings were pretty soft at least Englund gives them someone who drop them.

Lewis rarely fights but he is gritty and a Daryl Sutter favorite. We know how he plays.

Still, a Lemeiux would be nice.

Ideally, Blake should deal Lizotte or Grundstrom and re do the 4th line with a tough guy who can play-JAD-Fagemo/Lewis.
Grundstrom isn't a fighter, but he's pretty physical. He averaged 14 hits P/60 which is pretty dang high. Your beloved Nick Seeler averaged 6.7 for comparison.

I always think you need bottom 6 players like that to wear down the opposition especially in the playoffs. I can’t speak for last year since i’ve missed a lot of the season but did Grundy play a lot in the playoffs?

It's always the same thing with Grundstrom.

He gets in the lineup, plays great, is very noticeable, scores a few goals, then he disappears. He eventually gets injured or benched. The cycle repeats.

The thing is, our team doesn't even throw the body. These will be our top four guys in hits/60 for this coming season. Pretty pathetic when you compare this to the rest of the league.

Hits /60

Brendan Lemieux 20.66
Carl Grundstrom 14.65
Andreas Englund 10.62
Trevor Lewis 9.53
Mikey Anderson 5.82
