Seeing all these lineups posted has me salivating for the Kings to ice:

Byfield/Kopitar/Kempe
Moore/Dubois/Lewis
Arvidson/Danault/Fiala
Hodgson/Tynan/Maltsev

Anderson/Doughty
Gavrikov/Connauton
Englund/Santini

Copley/Talbot

Clarke, Spence get sent to Ontario while Kaliev, and JAD are lost waivers, Roy and Lizotte get traded for cap space.

Gotta play those veterans (and for some reason Byfield despite him being maybe the least NHL ready) over all these prospects. Can't trust those kids.

The thing is, our team doesn't even throw the body. These will be our top four guys in hits/60 for this coming season. Pretty pathetic when you compare this to the rest of the league.

Hits /60

Brendan Lemieux 20.66
Carl Grundstrom 14.65
Andreas Englund 10.62
Trevor Lewis 9.53
Mikey Anderson 5.82
14.65 is high on pretty much any team. Would be the 2nd most on Vegas.

Lemieux is frustrating because when he was playing well he was great. The he just stopped.

14.65 is good, it's the significant drop off after that is the problem.

I hear all this talk that PLD is good because he gives us size and grit and all that jazzzz yet his hits/60 is about the same as Kevin Fiala's. It'd literally be one of the lowest on the team.

Grundstrom isn't a fighter, but he's pretty physical. He averaged 14 hits P/60 which is pretty dang high. Your beloved Nick Seeler averaged 6.7 for comparison.
Move Grundstrom up the lineup, and put him on the PP. He could add a strong front net presence like Tomas Holmstrom or Wayne Simmonds.

Every team should have at least two "pugilists" on them.

Realistically Andreas Englund will get into.. 35? 40? games next season. That's half the season having to rely on Adrian Kempe/Philip Danault to drop the gloves when something goes south.

This team played a lot bigger when we iced both Lemieux and MacDermid.
So true.

Looking over CapFriendly, the cap ceiling is projected to go up by $4M, which brings the Kings' cap space up to a little over $30M in 2024, which is looking like a loaded UFA class.

I think we all anticipated the team to only be looking at spare parts even before the trade for Dubois in order to shore up the bottom six, so not sure how anyone is surprised by the events of today. It's the following year where they'll likely make a bigger splash in securing a goaltender, and who knows what else.

I agree with your roster players except it will be JAD instead of Fagemo. They would not have signed JAD today if they thought Fagemo was ready. An injury in preseason could prevent Fagemo from the waiver wire, although we often overthink that every prospect is going to be claimed when in fact it rarely happens with players with very little NHL experience.

Fans are penciling in soft Bjornfot on the third pair when the Kings just signed England for a million and don't have anyone like him.

Kings have not re-signed either Doty or Gouldbourne for Ontario - so maybe they sign one of the few tough guys left to a two way deal.

Fiala - PLD - Kempe
Byfield - Kopitar - Grundstrom
Moore - Danault - Arvidsson
Lewis - Lizotte - Kaliyev

Anderson - Doughty
Gavrikov - Clarke
Englund - Roy

Copley
Talbot

That’s my take on our roster situation. Also means we waive at least three of JAD, Fagemo, Thomas, Madden, and Bjornfot unless we have someone on IR to start the season.

Correct me if I’m wrong but they don’t need to be cap compliant until the season starts right?? If so, it’ll probably give one or more kids a chance to take over a spot or few

Say what you want about Durzi,LA is going to miss his offense and his character. Spence and Clarke are his replacements but I don't think they'll be better than him not this coming season anyways

With the trade of Vilardi and Kupari the Kings lose 2 Right-Shooters on a team that had precious few to begin with...too bad the Kings couldn't have sent Moore,Lizotte,Yafallo, and Byfield instead! Not sure whether Quinton becomes a top 6 Centre, hell we know he's not a top 6 Forward not at this stage anyways

I dont think we faced full strength VGK after they were done playing the LTIR game w Stone...EDM ragged dolled LAK, then got rolled by VGK. They cruised to the cup.
I know edm lost to vgk and then you insinuate that vgk in turn can beat on la. I don't agree. I don't think things work that way. Some teams match up well against others. We just can't beat edm. And edm is not very good.
