Well the Kings are going with Copley and Talbot. Personally I don't see this tandem as a Cup contending duo. Talbot hasn't done much other than one good season. If the Kings don't go farther than last year it will because of the weakness in goal.

In hindsight, the AA deal was a red hearing that fortold this story on Blake the GM.

I just hope Blake doesn't give away too many future #1 picks for our next GM to rebuild from this ship that will eventually sink. It's got a year or so left but the leaks are there and it's happening eventually.
C'mon, you know full well that if Copley and Talbot both falter then by Thanksgiving, Blake is gonna make another panic trade of a 1st + 2nd for Dan Vladar with salary retained.

I'm genuinely impressed. In 6 years Blake has taken the Kings from a franchise with a solid core and one of the best prospect pools in the league, and tuned them right back into a bunch of players under contract with no real plan, no real prospect pool, and no real ability to compete just like the 40ish years before 2008.

Credit where credit is due, that's an accomplishment!

That’s the reason why I want the Kings to miss the playoffs. The sooner the Kings rid themselves of the cancer that is Blake and Tm maybe they can become an organization with a plan rather than reactive dumb f***s selling the team in a moments notice.

Pretty impressed with Blake this off-season. Got the center position dealt with & LD with Gavrikov. Banished Cal to the East coast. Picked up some cheap depth & put the team in a position to be able to take a shot at the deadline.

Kept the top two lines from last year intact & potentially put a 3rd line together.

Don't see the point of losing our minds over depth signings.

Vegas played last year with one of their 10M players on IR the whole time & people are freaking out that King's have to play with sub optimal goaltending? Ok.

Korpisalo signing 4AAV for 5 years is not the way to fix the goaltending position.

Have some adult beverages & enjoy Canada Day.

I think Blake's moves make it obvious that the kings won't contend for a cup this year

signing average goalies to 1 yr contracts, worrying about the center position suggests that he's readying himself for 24-25 when there's roughly $20m off the books

signing $20m worth of players will give the 24-25 Kings an interesting run by default, but people will misunderstand this as some kind of a success story unfortunately

I want them to win -- and i'll root for them to do and have huge, HUGE success. Having said that, your comment is a good consolation prize (if it were to happen).

It's possible this is only for the regular season and Blake will upgrade at the deadline.

I don't know why everyone is so surprised by these moves, we literally can only afford the bottom of the barrel guys that we can waive and send down without a cap penalty and low risk of being claimed. Today we need bodies. We are going to have weaknesses to start the season, but there will also be opportunities for the kids on ELCs to earn a spot and it'll be a make or break year for several of them.

What’s Ryan Graves rumored asking price? I am sure not cheap.

Personally I think Blake is buildings this team wrong. He should have built from the Goaltender position, then defense and follow with forward position like Dean Lombardi did. The Kings won 2 Cups building that way. In 2 years Kopi and Doughty will have to be replaced. What are the chance Blake can replace those 2 positions with top quality players. The Kings are good at defense and forward but that don't mean much if they goaltender the last defense cannot keep the puck out of the net. You cannot compare this team to Vegas. Vegas has big strong fasting d-men and forwards and a real coach. Kings don't have much of that.

So what? 1 mil cap hit for 1 year. The bonus slides into the next year. Just cash. That isn't going to hurt us.
and next year when we need an extra $1M to get a goalie (or LHD, size/toughness) but we lose out to someone else....then what. I'm ok losing space for next year on something worthwhile and that might help us win a SC...but Talbot?!? ok, prove me wrong.

It's the same thing when we lose draft picks away. People say big deal. ok, but those are assets/bullets for you to utilize. The less you have, the weaker you are in attempting to get talent. Stop thinking in a vacuum and see the big pic
