LA Kings: new GM wanted -- inquire within

this is just the literal exact same bullshit blake has been doing year after year, signing unnecessary contracts that roadblock kids

like holy f***, we made the playoffs last year and todd didn't trust them to play, address the existing holes and count on the kids improving, don't just slide them right back to square 1 but a year older.........
In hindsight, the AA deal was a red hearing that fortold this story on Blake the GM.

I just hope Blake doesn't give away too many future #1 picks for our next GM to rebuild from this ship that will eventually sink. It's got a year or so left but the leaks are there and it's happening eventually.

Talbot is a shit signing and I would bet he washes out before 10 games played.

Kings are smart to let everything develop and pick up something better off the scrap heap around November -December. I’m fine with Copley getting the lions share of starts unless he’s shits the bed.

Nothing of value was available in UFA class and signing Korpasalo for 4 years would have been beyond dumb.

If we are good enough to make a Cup run I expect them to go after Hbomb at the deadline and hope for Kopitar either going out on top or signing a super friendly deal to go out like Dustin with a loaded roster on a year to year basis.

I wouldn't except that TM is the coach, so he's going to get massively overplayed.

It's gold watching you contribute nothing of substance but to make fun of posts that actually have sound reasoning.

If you have something positive to say, we're all ears. Every time I've called you on it you've hidden back in the shadows only to pop back up to talk shit to everyone again.
Triggered. It's hilarious reading all your bad takes and meltdowns over a sports organization. 🤣

Trying to be positive--

IN THEORY adding a depth forward, defenseman, or goalie should be easy-ish at the deadline, and that's not counting camp surprises

but in practice this is still c***b***ck kids from the chance to really show out

Soucy for 3.25? What did our guy sign for?

1mil per

Kings are over the cap by 700K. They can still afford to essentially sign another player to a two way deal, hoping for an enforcer.

There was a rumor a year or two ago the young players in Ontario were upset because they saw no path for them to make the NHL team.

Tell me today where Fagemo, Bjornfot, and Clarke fit in now?

Byfield-Kopitar-Kempe
Moore-Danault-Arvidsson
Fiala-PLD-Kayilev/Lewis
Grundstrom-Liztotte-Kayilev/Lewis
JAD, Fagemo (waiver eligible)

Doughty-Anderson
Garvikov-Roy
Englund-Spence
Extra: Bjornot (waiver eligible)
Wouldn't be shocked if Grundstrom got moved, with Fagemo taking that spot (although I think his lineup spot was more dependent on Arvidsson staying or going than on signing someone like Lewis). I'd hope Englund if not banished to the AHL is the 7 and Tobi stays in the lineup but guess we'll see.

I'd assume Clarke/Spence rotate, I don't think anything happening today really changed that. Was doubting they'd go for Gavrikov-Clarke/Spence and Clarke/Spence-Roy. Let them rotate NHL/AHL time unless one of them runs with it

I really want this team to fail this year. As a fan of the Kings and someone who really hates management. This team needs to fail this season. I am so sick and tired of the way this team is being operated by.

The most idiotic coach in the league
The most idiotic general manager
Yanetti can get it too, the drafting sucks.

If we don’t make it past the first round, Blake and management will get fired, right? Can’t imagine this mediocrity continuing with no shake ups.
i would certainly hope so

can't do the same jig year after year while spending uncle phil's money like this

Why would he hold onto next years picks? There’s only the first, 4th, 5th and 6th. Might as well just package them off at this point.

Bjornfot is terrible. It was either Jim Fox or Nick Nickson one broadcast, said you have to do one thing good. He doesn't.

TB is not physical, he's not offensive.

In this NHL, you need to either have skills, skate, put up points OR big big. He's neither.
I think it’s more and more likely that TB was just one of those kids who peaked much earlier than most do, it’s happened plenty of times before. It’s the most likely reason for the plateau at 21.

Of course you would like to see the organization be out in front of that and maybe trade the asset before his value craters once the rest of the league discovers what you should know. Same thing as with his fellow 2019 1st rounder in Turcotte and all his massive red flags in his D+1. But Blake doesn’t seem to like to publicly admit mistakes at the draft table. Instead he sends his lackeys to Pravda to talk about “5 to 7 year slow cooks for all but the elite of elite” and “only McDavid types don’t need AHL time” to justify the poor decisions he and his scouting and development staff have made.

Right now we have our 2024 1st and 4th and 2025 picks, I fully expect to not have anything in the first four rounds of 2024 (WINDOW OPEN!) and the first 2 of 2025 by the end of this year.

Might as well trade every single one. Kings have had an enormous amount of picks since 2015 and have only produced 2 NHL regulars on their roster.
Matt Roy and Mikey Anderson who are both stay at home defensemen. All the staff still has jobs and some get promotions.

Turcotte can at least blame injuries. What is Toby's excuse?

Wow! Korpi just got signed by The Senators. 4 years at 20 mill. He got paid. Blake because of many dumb contract couldn't afford that.
