all 3 of these FA signings could've been a solid notch better if blake wouldn't have gone full Pejorative Slur on the PLD signing and just addressed the real problems

now he's just dumpster diving because of his own poor foresight

why would you ruin a good offseason with all this nonsense?

He seriously could've got Wheeler for the league minimum.

I think people are freaking out a bit too much about bottom depth signings, they seem to be all under the burying threshold so if they don't work out they can be waived.
That's the one good thing so far with the Englund deal. Ignoring re-signings (JAD) and a clear AHL signing (Maltsev) I'm fine with Talbot and Lewis deals. Englund was a stupid signing but it can be buried with no cap hit

this is just the literal exact same bullshit blake has been doing year after year, signing unnecessary contracts that roadblock kids

like holy f***, we made the playoffs last year and todd didn't trust them to play, address the existing holes and count on the kids improving, don't just slide them right back to square 1 but a year older.........

I don't mind lewis, everything else today sucks ass though

I wouldn't except that TM is the coach, so he's going to get massively overplayed.

It's gold reading these posts, the meltdown over these moves makes it entertaining to say the lease.

It's gold watching you contribute nothing of substance but to make fun of posts that actually have sound reasoning.

If you have something positive to say, we're all ears. Every time I've called you on it you've hidden back in the shadows only to pop back up to talk shit to everyone again.

Seeing what some UFA's are signing for, I would have rather moved Arvidsson (for extremely cheap if need be).

You could have used the cap space to try and get Cole or Soucy. If you want a Arvidsson replacement look what Pacioretty and JVR signed for.

Kings are over the cap by 700K. They can still afford to essentially sign another player to a two way deal, hoping for an enforcer.

There was a rumor a year or two ago the young players in Ontario were upset because they saw no path for them to make the NHL team.

Tell me today where Fagemo, Bjornfot, and Clarke fit in now?

Byfield-Kopitar-Kempe
Moore-Danault-Arvidsson
Fiala-PLD-Kayilev/Lewis
Grundstrom-Liztotte-Kayilev/Lewis
JAD, Fagemo (waiver eligible)

Doughty-Anderson
Garvikov-Roy
Englund-Spence
Extra: Bjornot (waiver eligible)

Yes he integrated nothing and seems to be doing the opposite... building from the edges in, D and goalie come last. Zero emphasis on the "heavy" game.. in fact the opposite there too. Its as if he isnt trying to build a team that can succeed in the playoffs... and there's your answer.
Blake's not trying to build a playoff successful team- he wants to maximize regular season gate. And keep those sweet sweet aeg paychecks coming in for the 3 stooges and their player development grunts

Don't blame them if that's true. Some of these guys are 22-23 years old. When the hell are they going to get a real shot?

Oh don't worry, TM's already got his Arvidsson replacement

I legit don’t think Bjornfot is bad at all. He doesn’t have any great skills but why on earth is he getting so f***ed all the time by random losers who he would do better than? I don’t get it. Did he plow Blake’s wife? If so, he should do it again.

Rather than doing all this bullshit they should have signed Soucy to that contract. Holy hell what a deal

Bjornfot is terrible. It was either Jim Fox or Nick Nickson one broadcast, said you have to do one thing good. He doesn't.

TB is not physical, he's not offensive.

In this NHL, you need to either have skills, skate, put up points OR big big. He's neither.

So many posters like that around here now. Don’t want to have any kind of intelligent discussion where their beliefs might be challenged or they have to back up their arguments.

It’s sad

Like I get the appeal of Lewis still but he’s how old now and how likely to be overplayed by TM? He addresses none of the toughness issues the Kings have. Englund is hopefully there to protect the kids in the A because he’s terrible. I guess Maltsev is an AHL winger only? Not pleased about the Kings return to being the leagues goalie graveyard like we were before Quick. Honestly hate the 4th line and bottom 2 d’s construction at the moment.
