Your point?
When did you buy it from the handful of guys that said it before you?
Please show me the receipts..

The Kings continue to do development their way and will never change it.
Either a guy distinguishes himself as a solid player on both side of the puck and makes contributions or he is in the AHL or further down the lineup, and or eventually a cap casualty.
None of you guys sits in TMac's toll keeper booth nor behind the screen piloting Blake's eye in the sky...

Specifically said it with forwards only though, a long while ago. We seem to make NHL players out of D men, i.e Durzi, Forbert but we can't even develop a Luff into a decent 4th line scrub. My worries back then are still valid today and should be addressed if we expect to develop higher end prospects like Pinelli, Fagemo, Chromiak, etc to be making the team. Byfield and Kaliyev are still work in progress too.

At this point, the Kings should just throw in the towel on finding a miracle UFA signing for pennies on the dollar, and roll into camp with what we have.

When rosters get trimmed down in the fall, there could be a waiver deal to be had, and otherwise just hope for some LTIR cap space from one of our high-dollar redundant forwards & make a deal at the deadline.

It’s a shit sandwhich 5 years in the making.

It’s baffling to me that they didn’t qualify JAD. This management team is bizarre.
It’s a common tactic for teams to not qualify a player they think they can simply re-sign for a lower amount than the QO.

That being said, if I’m JAD, I’m running away from this organization fast as I possibly can, and trying to find some bottom-six minutes in a low-expectations environment.

JAD is eligible for arbitration, so he would just have to turn down the QO and go to an arbitrator to plead his case. Since it would be player elected, the team can only walk away if it's in excess of a fairly high amount, several million per year I believe. Obviously JAD isn't getting that, but if he turned down the QO and was awarded $1.5M per year, the team is on the hook for it. At least that's how I read the CBA, I could be totally wrong. But I think it's 100% the right move to make.

Did MacEwen get a QO? I think he's in the same boat.

Friedman is "speculating" that the Kings could add Cam Talbot and a Trevor Lewis reunion. Also seems to confirm that Quick is a Ranger

Hard pass on Talbot, hes garbage. If that's the dumpster diving they're doing I'd rather just bring Quick back.

Talbot makes sense. Hoven just wrote about how the Kings could sign a 35+ goalie to give a low salary with bonuses for a lower cap hit.
